As you might remember I posted a thread about fixing that wheel.
I am tempted just to take the wheels off. How sturdy is it without
the wheels? Is it just as sturdy as with them?

Me thinks it works better without the wheels.  I have never had it tip in 4 years  of use.

I have those stands.   I won't use one without wheels.   Had my $2000 projectors on them.   I figured it could roll out of the way if someone bumps in to it, rather than just fall over.   I figured the wheels would give me a little more in the way of protection.    On the ones that held the projectors, I loaded the legs with lead, to make them bottom heavy.

If the TV is going to be out on or near the dance floor, wheels are the way to go.

Babs, that price sucks.   Look around I have seen them as low as $60, on sale.    Very good price.

Silly dog, I'm not buying a stand. I already have one. I just googled
it to get any random picture to show which stand I use. To tell you the truth I
don't know who I originally bought my stand from.

My TV is 19-20."    No need to squint.      Had to use all-thread to modify the one Babs has pictured.    Never lost one yet.    Had the projectors and TV stands bumped into many times.  They just rolled out of the A**hole's way.   LMAO

It's funny you bring this up.  I sang at a place on Friday night that has the monitor facing the dance floor but not the audience.  So the audience is looking at your profile.  I did my best not to look at the monitor and to turn to the crowd.  It was awkward...Not sure if I will go back, just because of that.

Well, I've seen this kind of set up before.  :D

And I must say it irritates the hell outta me. I usually use the screen as kind of a "bluff", so I don't have to stare into the audience. I hate looking out at people when I sing, yanno that.

But the SW blows that all out of the water. I gotta stand with my back to people, or look out at the people. It's a pretty dumb setup, IMO. And such a great karaoke place. Did you mention it to Goldie? She just walks around looking into the crowd, but Dave does the opposite, he stares at the screen. You'd think she'd have changed it by now, atleast because of him. ( I noticed Shelley did it too, stared at the screen, back to the crowd)

I do the same. I just can't stare into the crowd on the whole song, unless of course I'm in the mood to be silly and act like a dork while singing. I just make sure I have my nice tight jeans on, so the audience isn't dissapointed that I have my back turned.  :D

On some songs I like to look at Gigi while singing. If it's not too romantic then I'll look at her and sometimes glance over at the bar to make it look like I'm looking around a little. Don't know if it works but I'm still working on it.

This is interesting. The place I go to has a small 13" monitor for the singer as he faces the crowd, and has a 27" monitor facing the crowd. The problem I have with this is that facing the crowd looking at the small monitor places me behind the sound system speakers which are midway out on the sides of the dance floor.
The only way to hear what I'm doing is to step out in front of the speakers in a profile stance while gawking at the 27" monitor that faces the crowd. I'm not the only one who does this. Some people know their songs well enough, they just wander around the audience, or go out in front of the speakers without looking at the monitor. Not me. I'm still scared everytime I get up there, so it doesn't bother me to look away from the audience. Most of the time people are drunk or talking and not even paying attention to the singer, but will clap if they like what they heard in the background I guess. I'm no star. If I was, I'd join a band and learn some songs and techniques so I could face the crowd. So far, I've never heard anyone complain that they couldn't see my ugly face or my constipated expressions while trying to sing. :newlol:
Even the kj lady does this throughout the night. It's mainly for the better sound. I guess she could benefit from a better system layout, but as mentioned, some stupid drunks would knock everything over or clobber someone with a speaker in a fight or something.
It's funny, come to think of it, I have no a$$ to look at either, so I'm just invisible sound. :newlol:

The only time I see this is when it gets really late and the drunk people can't see the small monitor at the front of the stage, so they turn around and look at the big screen behind them!
