I have recently converted all my cd+g collection to mp3+g using audiograbber however I have some video discs which are vcd format, how do I uplift the track without the vocals?

You can rip the backing track (without the vocal) but you will not have the video and the lyric.
This can be done in Cool Edit Pro.
1. Load your vdc. Goto desktop>my computer> open the vcd file> click MPEGV. You will see the video files.
2. Open CEP
3. Goto tool bar> click Insert>> chose video from file.. You will get a window.
4. Goto your cdrom drive and pick the file you want to load. ( If you do not see the video file make sure to chose > all files at the files of type.
5. You will see the stereo wav in the 2nd track
6. In Edit View you highlight / chose the Lower track that have the vox and cut it off
7. Then to the other part of the track, copy it and paste it on to the lower track.
You now have a backing track without the vox.
8. You can add stereo efx, increases the vol or eqed to your liking before mixdown to mp3

I think CAVS had a way to rip from either AVI or MPEG to cd+g... some way of a video to cdg computerized... or maybe video to .BIN, and then use mp3toolz...
