well, i was runnig a show at knebels (the locals call it Tuff's) on saturday nights, but they cancelled my show.  seems they "weren't making any money" although there were never any empty seats to be had, seriously.  the rotations was usually 30 deep!  a new bar opened next door (literally) and asked me to do their karaoke on friday nights.  hmmmmm.......i work at one place, get offered a gig next door, accept and the first place cancels me.
Well, there are three factors working here.
1-the first place only seels beer, wine and set-ups so people are allowed to bring their own bottle of liquor in and buy the set-ups for their drinks.  i can see where thy wouldn't make as much moeny on that as beer, but still.
2-Football is huge down here and alot of folks like to watch the games at the bar.  now, most games are on during the afternoon so i don't know if that's plausible or not.
3-I accepted a job at the competition.
i'm leaning toward #3, but who knows.  all i know is that the only folks in there on saturday nights are the singers. (by the way, the bartender was P.I.S.S.E.D!!!!)  if they ask me back
( and they will!), you can bet it won't be for the rate i was getting before!  funny thing is the new bar just can't WAIT for me to start.  First night is tomorrow.  It's not as big a place....will probably only hold about 30 singers TOPS!  so you shuld come on out!  i'll buy your first round!
