My pet peeve is bring and take.... If you are over there I say bring it here...And you can say ok I will bring it ...If I have it here i take it over there. What gets me is the ones that say lets bring it over there.  Maybe Im wrong but it bugs me.

Then there are those that dont know the difference between down town and up town.....

LMFAO!!! Yep.... that one's a little more common than "brang" i think..... i dunno WHERE I came up with that!!

did ya know the only time you're supposed to say "hanged" is when someone was....ya know..... tied with a noose. He was hanged. He was not "hung"...... well..... he might have been, ;) but that's not the point I'm tryin' to make!!

*sigh* I should learn to shut up! LOL!

as far as the kitchen.......I don't belong in the kitchen......speaking of the kitchen.....makes me think of a song....."in the kitchen, my stove was blazing hot".......bet you don't know this song LOL

It's no problem misunderstandings happen all the time, but what on earth makes you think I don't know "haunted house"?? I never could understand if the lyrics were about the butter melting in the pan or in the hand.

You'd be surprised how many people don't know that one......the guy just died less than two weeks ago, and you didn't even see too much written about it.......I might sub that one, when I bombard SS with a mess a Halloween songs in October....lol.........take care.......jj.....ps....I think he was cooking with grease, and he also had something else in his, and girls, I knew growing up,...would sing a funny little line about that part....lol

Well, I hope you never have to hear my Arkansas native husband speak then.  LMAO

Once, we had a bird that was stuck in a tree. (house bird, duh) My husband (having been in the wood cutting business with his dad, and being very adept at tree climbing) went up and got it down. When my younger brother asked him how he got it so quickly he said:

"Well, I climbed up this side, clam across and got 'im, then clumb down the other side"

And yeah..... he was dead serious. My brother STILL quotes that to this day.  LOL

LOL I'm an elementary school teacher, but I won't bother running around grading anyone's posts for spelling.  I hope you'll offer me the same courtesy.

Often the most educated are the worst...ie...doctors and teachers

This is so true! My mother was an English teacher. I have 3 very well educated
brothers. Two of them are doctors and one is a partner in a bond trading firm.
They are all horrible spellers. Not only are they bad spellers, you can barely read their hand writing.
We always blamed my dad's genetics for it.  LMAO

I think grammer is harder for people who grew up with people who misspoke the language. My father used to say saw for seen and visa versa. Even though I know it is incorrect I still do it because I heard it said wrong so many times in my life.

I don't think either of these problems have any thing to do with how smart a person is, but we tend to judge people on how they speak. I do conjure up an image of a person on how they present themselves in the forum. Some of the time I am way off.

I think it is only important if you want to be understood. If your writings are so poor that I can't understand their meaning, it is a problem.

Yeh, and now people in our country are talking in Spanish, Japanese, and all kinds of other languages......and how do I know they are using good grammer, or using words out of context, or mis-spelling words, when I don't understand their language.....lol......anymore, I'm just happy to hear English......no matter how bad it is........"some people would b*tch, if you hung them with a new rope"... :)
