I use MTU and without getting personal about this, I do like it in general but I agree with others about it's short comings on the rotation management. I think most of us use fair rotation in their show and that means having ability to be flexible on how to manage rotation. Of course, you can develop a routine so compensate for it's differences but I would liked to have rotation that is singer based, not just song order based. I would like a spreadsheet like configuration where you enter the singer name on left and ability to assign a song to a subsequent space to the each column next to the user name. Once the rotation is done, it goes back to the next column to the top. I would ilke it if you can add and move singers at will and the entire song selection moves with the singer.

Just my opinion.

Actually Elvis, I DID own hoster and Micro Studio......But not for long.

I demanded my money back and got it. LOL

Who needs MTU to encrypt anything?

Encryption software is already free!...Just place all your music files in one folder and assign it a password....As far as that goes, you can use COMUSEC for true on-the-fly encryption of your whole danged machine for free....Try it, I use it already and it rocks! My machine won't even boot till I enter my keys, then everything in it and everything I type is encrypted instantly.

MTU had planned to create an encryption program to tie their files to a certain to machine or serial number for the host's that want it.  also the future plans are to be able to sell karaoke music online from SC, Chartbuster, Etc. They required for this to happen there would be protection from trading.
quote]

Just another example of how MTU is only after the bucks.

We can already buy and download karaoke songs.....Who needs MTU playing middle man and adding code that restricts how/when/where we can play what we paid for?

Like Bill Gates and his WGA spyware, MTU wants to make us prove we are 'genuine' owners of stuff we already bought.....Who needs that crap?

I already get my pockets searched whenever I exit WalMart after giving them my money for their junk. I don't need to pay MTU 200 bucks to grant them the right to search me every time I play music I paid for.

It's a middleman scam....MTU jams themself between us and the seller and we are then at their mercy.

Sorry, but I don't need MTU checking my pockets....I still have my pride.

Having never used HOSTER I can't offer any software advice../.

But if the program will play MP3+G's  I don't see the real downside of it.
85% of PCKJ's are probaly ripping with audiograbber anyway .  So if you like the program (Hoster) just rip all to MP3+g just in case   ...seems simple solution

Keith,
This guy is not doing any good in promoting the program that he is associated with. People reading his posts got p**s off. He start calling people name just because they don't like or don't use the program. I for one will not even consider using it or even mention it by name just because of this guy.

I smoked Pall mall cigarettesfor 30  years up t0 3 packs a day. When I first started buying aboard ship a carton was $1.10 When I quit it was way over $10....One day before I quit I got a mailin in a carton It asked how long I had smoked Pall Mall and how many.... I fiiled it out and sent it in I a few weeks I got a refund /  They sent me a check for 76 cents and a pack at that time was $2 in a machine.... Brand loyalty is one thing but dont get carried away or emotional about it They could care less...

to all,

It had nothing to do with Loyalty. Everyone on this board puts down copying cd's and using burns for doing a show.

Keith is against any form of protecting so he cant steal. Everything is supposed to be unlocked so he can walk off with it and steal someone else's show.

When I lived in Florida, I never locked my house. My car was never locked, because we didn't have thievery where I lived. Since I have Moved to Louisiana, I have had to lock down everything because Everyone is a thief.

I am tired of the mentality that something need to be free.

I deal with individuals here like keith all day long. You guys have no Idea what I am talking about, because you live in a honest world.

MTU software Is not even  in the picture of what I was referring to.

Being able to protect a $50,000 investment in music is where I am coming from. Yes, I want every library I own Encrypted. So I don't hire A Thief to do a show for me who copies my hard drive and starts his own business off of my investment. Then proceeds to run me out of business bu undercutting My prices.

This is the whole contention  of where I am coming from And is what Keith is against.

Does it make you wonder Why???????

re read my posts, I could care what brand software you use. I will even point out the faults in Mtu software,

I am not the Demon in the picture here.

I dont know about sax and dotties, or any other program, so I cant comment about their short commings, I have used hoster, and Won't  let someone drag it through the mud lying about what it will and wont do to promote their buddys program.

I have absolutly no affiliation with MTU.........
