you can get karaoke disc song listings from various retailers who publish their catalogs online.

The problem with getting disc listiings from karaoke retailers is that some list the tracks in alphabetical order, not track order.  You are better off typing the discs in by hand off of the actual discs.  Even CDG manu's listings are not always correct.

If they're not in the order you want surely you just sort them by disc and track in somthing like excel. That's what I've done.

It's true that many times, or I should say sometimes, the data offered by applications like KJPro are incorrect....It's a show-stopper whenever you key up a song from your data base and the WRONG song plays!..It is embarrassing for even the most professional KJ with the very best equipment to fumble around searching for the requested song after a false start like that.

The only answer is to take the time to verify each and every track and then provide feedback to the disc maker and your application developer....Why the disc maker?...Because often, it is the disc maker who provides the corrupted info to the app writer. Programs developer like KJpro simply bundle the info from the disc makers into their listing updates and allow you to download them if you are a subscriber, so make sure to feedback incorrect listings.

I usually use http://www.kjpro.com/browse for my disc typing needs... and I verify it with the disc. So as I'm typing them into my database, I'm seeing the listing on the screen. KJPRO isn't perfect... and I've corrected them on some of their disc listing errors I've seen. To which they were very greatful!

I've hand typed all my 16,500 tracks, and know my database because of it.

I used to do songbooks using my own database hand typed in for KJs here until I was undercut by these songbook programs.

See?  There is always someone undercutting someone else! :bawling:

1. You are out of your mind.
2. That is a superior way to know what you've got and that is important for a first-rate KJ.
3. You are still out of your mind.

Still do.  Haven't found a canned database that was 100% accurate - EVER!  This way if there is a typo, it's because of me & me alone!
