Burning software for some reason doesn't work with all burners.  Try the software site for a list of compatable burners.     I know CD Clone works with certain models of HP burners better than other ones.   They will list exact models numbers.   They meant it.   :D

Are you saying the burner will not work at all, or it will not burn cdg's?

I've been getting plextor burners on Ebay pretty cheap.

Check out either the list from MTU for compatible... or http://www.goldenhawk.com for the correct devices

Not all plextors will work with the software!!

I've also had good luck with most HP burners working well burning cdg's.

I suggest you contact Sony tech and see if they offer a solution. There might be a driver issue involved. Did you allow Winduhs to plug n play it or did you install the drivers that came with it?

If you had a driver floppy/cd that came with it, remove/unplug the cdrom, go into device manager and remove the drivers windows assigned to it, then install the Sony drivers, then reinstall/reconnect the cdrom and try it again, also look on the Sony support site for latest drivers before you do anything.
