I'm looking for a good set of Vocal speaker that's compact in size.
For dedicated vocals, I have Vocopro SV-300 hook to a DA-4050FX paired with a VHF-48 mic

For the music audio it goes through my surround sound consisting of

Sony DVPCX995V 400-Disc DVD changer (must have ifu have hundreds of karaoke dvds)
Denon AVR3802
Polk audio, RTI6 (fronts) CSi5 (center), FXi5 (surrounds)
I can play on 5 channels stereo so the entire room is filled with sound.

I have no complaints with my audio, but the vocal is missing a little umph.

Due to the amount of speakers in our little 15x15 room, I'm looking for something small. I occassional throw parties and everyone get around and sing together. Not looking for professional grade products, but looking for professional grade sound. :) No budget in mind, just not any of my arms or legs.

I bought the B-52 matrix v2 1000 with 2 10' speakers and one large 15" powered subwoofer for 700$.  the 10' speakers sound really good for the money!  I am very happy with this setup and although I am not a professional (yet), I would say this has borderline prof. sound.  One of my friends is a wedding coordinator and she kept asking me when I was going to do some gigs after she heard my system.  I finally asked her if she really thought it was good enough, she said "oh yeah, great" and I didn't even prompt her.  Anyway, if you don't want the huge 15" woofer, maybe you could see if B-52 will sell you the 10' speakers by themselves?  They sound very clear for the money and do have 10" woofers that may give you a little ummpfff

these 2 mikes were fairly cheap (thanks lonman!) and they sound good.

Consumer-grade home theater speakers just are not designed for vocal reproduction. They are meant to replay hi-fi line-level signals, like from a CD player or DVD player.

Without spending a few grand, you are not going to find any home theater speakers that reproduce vocals well, and for under $500 you could buy yourself a PA that would do the job better anyways....

Here's a link to AMS's complete PA systems, which wil all sound twice as good for vocals than your home theater equipment:

The Sqiuer system for $230 is a decent PA made by Fender that will even sound better for your vocals. It also has a reverb effect and you could always upgrade it to higher quality PA components later on. Either way, that is all you need for such a small room!!

my gf have the following this setup at her home and it sounds wonderful.

Dtech,
Speakers HT-100
Reciever.... Dtech, BTD-68
Wireless Mic. D-4200

Speakers were like 300, reciever was 600 and the mic was another 375. That's all she have on hers and it produce loud music at the same time clear vocals.

The main problem with my system the vocal production isn't clear and crisp enough. I thought it was my mic, so i took  hers over my place and tried it, sounded better but not anywhere near her quality. Music reproduction on the Vocal Pros that I have is next to impossible to be good. It will do the job for vocal and that's it.

As I mentioned, my Home theatre system is mainly for music, all of my vocals will have dedicated speakers.

I forgot to add that I already have an NHT SubOne as well.
