LMAO, great story Kelly, would have like to have been there, sounds like you had a great time. :D
Thanks for all the suggestions guys and gals, keep'em coming.
Out of the three Marinas that I play at, two of the owners ride also, but they're more of the weekend warrior/corporate rider than the hardcore type. In Tennessee we have a Confederation of Clubs, which represents about 36 different motorcycle clubs, which means we don't have the usual territorial disputes like some states have. In reality, we can thank shows like American Chopper for helping to dispell some of the biker myths, and making it more acceptable to the mainstream culture.

During one of my bike runs instead of playing the usual poker, I opted for Bingo.
It was funny to see a bunch of grown men dressed in full biker outfit sitting there trying to keep up with all their cards and numbers. It was pretty comical.

But anyway back on subject, I've got all winter to figure this out. I just wanted to have the name/logo worked up and the merchandise together by next spring when the main season starts up again.

On another note, being at a Marina means that Labor day is basically the last hurrah as far as tourist and water traffic is concerned. My main gig however has decided to stay open year round, so I will in fact be the only local Karaoke show this fall and winter. I'm booked tonight, Sat/Sun/Monday, so I wont be seeing too much of you folks this weekend. Also Saturday is the first Tennessee game and I have to get out and support the local team. I hope everyone has fun, stays safe and drives carefully this holiday weekend.

yeah I'm suppose to make my yearly trek to Daytona Beach for Biketoberfest. They have biker Karaoke at several bars down there. But due to me still being new to the biz in the area, I'm not really sure I want to give up two weekends to go down there.
I have a free place to stay, and usually go for a full week. But the business side of me says to stay put and work on the show. So that's still up in the air.

Oh man, I get that everywhere I go. But then again, I do tend to stand out in a crowd, especially in this town, where being a long haired biker looking dude apparently has it's pluses.

I also like Maninblack Productions.

I don't think there is anything wrong with having skull in the name.
Anything skull is being trendy right now. My teenage daughters are on the
preppy side and they have all kinds of skull stuff. I think you could have a
really cool logo with a skull.

Robdog - I love your book cover. Who is the artist. I would love to do something similiar with a crazy monkey singing.

My vote is for Man In Black Productions because it conjures up images of a music icon. Psychological impact, ya know.

However, I think with the right logo you could use "skull" in any setting--like a line drawing of a skull singing into a microphone. (Why am I thinking Jerry Garcia all of a sudden? Have I seen a video or tee shirt or something?) That would work for DJing, too, I think. Singing Skull Entertainment, a division of Laughing SKill Productions? I dunno.

Chuck does a killer version of Stray Cat Strut which is why I went overboard and gave him a name. I was Gigi the Karaoke Chick when I ran a show. The show didn't really have a name, tho. I was a hired hand.

Oooooh....Hired Hand Entertainment? I need coffee.

I did a private party last night and during the break was talking with several friends about coming up with a possible stage name and company name. Well my buddys, bless their hearts, after multiple drinks come running up, interrupting me in mid sentence, telling me they have the perfect name.......Jimmy Saks
the Saks stands for Sings All Karaoke Songs...... LOL
I busted out laughing and with a strained grin thanked them very much for the suggestion. I just didn't have the heart, nor in their condition would they have understood, that the name just out and out SUCKED. I mean dear lord, these guys were high fiving each other as though they had found a cure for cancer, or invented a new flavor of hot wing sauce. I do admire their enthusiasm though, but needless to say, the search still goes on.
I do like a lot of the suggestions here, I've just been too busy this weekend to really give it much thought though.
But on the bright side, I did pick up another weekly gig at another Marina, so now I'm playing Wednesdays and Friday nights. I think instead of worrying about a name right now, I need to be looking for an assistant that can help with the setup and breakdown of equipment. At 50 the ole back just ain't what it use to be. :D

James,

I have found that when I wear tight jeans or a short skirt, I never have a lack of helpers when unloading anything.  Perhaps this could work for you too. LMAO

Congrats on the two new gigs!! That is awesome news!!

I think as long as it is a black leather skirt he might do just fine. Heck, I'd like to see that myself!

Now I've worn a kilt before, does that count...LOL
I use to weigh in at about 230, down to 200, when I get down to 180, may just have to break it out just for the heck of it and post a pic on here, hell I have no shame nor a care as to what anyone thinks of it. If I'm confident, I'm confident of two things, my self confidence as a man, and my ability to sing. I figure with those two things, any guy that says anything, I'll have enough women around to beat the tar out of him. ;)

James

P.S. Don't know about you folks, but this ole boy is tired, I just finished up four days of shows That's a lot of packing and unpacking for one person to do. Tomorrow is laundry and getting new tires for the truck. Then I fall into a regular Wednesday and Friday show schedule, which shouldn't be too bad. More Money=more equipment+new tunes..woohoo!!!!!
