I asked him about the difference between the wood cabinets and those.  He said something about how they were engineered or something.    I tend to agree with you about wood.     But  listen to the Bose wave stereo thingy.   It's all plastic.   But then again, it isn't a PA system.

I too don't care for plastic PA speakers for the same reasons....But they are good for folks who do lots of outside stuff or shipboard like on cruise ships due to moisture damage.

Cabs made from baltic birch plywood hold up better than MDF cabs in that environ, but they can be expensive.

Wood is just going to dampen the sound internally better than a plastic box projecting a tighter & well, warmer sound - given all other factors are proper like the power being pushed to them, crossover pointrs, eq, etc....
