Often I have a problem with synchronizing another's vocal track with mine with the backing.. no heads or tails are cut..however when the backing and vocal are sent to me in 2 separate tracks and I put them on Adobe.. they don't line up.. Any suggestions on how to solve this??

Thanks

I would welcome knowing a more tech way of doing this as well.
The way I do it is completely non-technical. If I am doing a duet with someone and I start the singing then I will create a mixdown of my voice and music as well as seperate vox track. That way if I am mixing the whole thing later I can simply align everything with the dummy version. I also use track lock to prevent drift. Like I said its a bit hit and miss but gets the job done

Not familiar with adobe but with cakewalk you just highlight the track and drag it to sync with the other. Also another way to chorus is bounce down 2 more vocals and delay them slightly out of sync with the original..

Sounds good to me.  If track lock is the same as preventing drift in recordings, I have tried that and it doesn't work with the duet...I am going to experiment with your method ..
