Like a fool most of my experience with caulk was just silicone type caulk. I was foolish not to read the chemicals this stuff had. I've worked alot with sealants, Laquers, minwax products, Krylon and Rustoleum sprays, Binz and killz. but never suspected this stuff to be of similar property in terms of toxicity. Go find your old paisley and tie-died clothes...you might feel beter wearing them while this stuff wears off!

Out've respect to those with technical knowledge, and interest in the more technical areas, and the fact that a few really have made an effort to make the technical forum into an area where KJ's and those interested in technical areas can talk without being interrupted by the tendency a few of us have to drift off-topic and get goofy, I've removed myself from posting in the tech forum UNLESS what I have to ask or offer is technical, in which case I adhere to wishes and rules of the tech advisory staff. I will not risk straying from technical content.
I removed myself from the tech forum out've respect. The "86" was self-imposed. I assumed this was known, but that's not a correct assumption. I'm a self-admitted technical moron, My self-deprecating humor really get's heavy when it comes to technical areas, and they don't need that.. Fact is I'm not a KJ, have no KJ knowledge, and don't belong in a KJ related technical forum. Steven.....I think she needs your emotional support ...I expect her to start posting her tech questions here so you will be there for her. Personally, i think it will be good for you to meet a gal who has some tech savy. You may not be a KJ, but seeing as you have a house full of instruments, I bet you know a little about recording.....am i correct?
Ah now I am catching on...Keith you reserve your sexist remarks for the GENERAL forum and treat people with respect in the Tech forum. I have made a mental not of that.
My point in bringing this thread to here is this...I have no axe to grind with anyone here, I have no need to be derisive (yet) nor do I have a need to be...I was going to say exclusive but the word I am looking for is excluding.
You Keith have been extremely helpful and our conversations have seen me strive to educate myself a little more and discover that YES your suggestions are correct. My next step is to find a card that will do the same as the one you suggested that doesnt cost $500 NZ and is readily available here.
the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI card is the closest available here, the next one is a huge jump to over $600. The delta 44 is not avail and were I to purchase it online with shipping and conversion (our exchange rate is approx $1nz = 58c US) then you will see that it becomes a tad costly for me to justify when I have a family to feed and a house to run.
As to needing emotional support as well as advice, well my friend if you have come to that conclusion, then I suggest you would be the only one who has. I need no affirmation or support I have always danced to the beat of my own drum. But I will say this, I dont play silly exclusive cliquey games.
As many have already discovered, if I can help anyone I usually do

The sound cards made by Creative are among the best there is but they are made for playback and games. There are many people out there who think that SBL sound better than some of the more expensive pro sound card. But for recording they are not a good choice. This has the option for RCA in, and I've used it for terrific results FROM my mixer.
I wouldn't have recommended it if I felt it wasn't good for what Morgan was looking for. And I've had the SB card with audio in and out, and hated it for every function I've tried... and as you said, for gaming purposes, it was ok.
As I said, to each their own.

For gaming it is one of the best, and so is it when use as playback.

Yes I already have a mixer...damn why do I keep missing these posts
Keith is right that my celeron couldnt cope right from when I bought it a year ago it struggled but I see no reason why the athlon dual core wont.

It's usually more of a problem with the chip set on the motherboard rather than the CPU....the chip set act kinda like a traffic cop for all the devices that acess the CPU....Some chip sets are better for gamming, some better audio....That's why I wanted to know what motherboard you new machine had.
Gurl, if you have an open PCI slot, go get you a Delta 44 and it will all be solved....NZ m-audio dealer can get you one fersure...send them email.

so, the SB card I tried is OK in my opnion.
The mp3+ device worked straight out of the box. I only had to change one thing and that was with the application I wanted to use it from.
For recording, again, straight rca connection in, and set the wave recorder to record the signal... worked like a charm, and I was pleased with the results.
