Steven, do you remember the penny arcade on the boardwalk that had the giant Gorilla situated in the back? It was actually used at the premier of the original "King Kong"....when I was little the damned thing looked to be 50 feet tall--scared the bejeesus out of me.  The other thing people who remember Atlantic City back in those days was the "high diving horse"---just that, a horse that dived into a pool of water. That was the whole show folks! Very popular attraction on the Steel Pier for lord knows how long.  Lou Costello actually worked doing that stunt in A.C. in his early years--read that somewhere.

I don't recall that Michael, I was very young.  I should see if I can find a photo though.  It might refresh my memory

Hey, since you guys have been to Atlantic city, did you happen to see Tom Hanks in front of a machine that had a Gypsy inside of it?

Bill,  was the gyrocopter a backpack helicopter with a stick in the front,  sort've like a helicopter type "jet pack' ?  Those were advertised alot in the 60's in boyslife next to the "Buy a Jeep" for $25,   $3 plans on how to convert your fathers 2.5 HP Briggs & Stratton lawn-mower into a minibike or go-cart, and

The gyrocoptor looks more like a 3 wheeled go-cart with helicopter blades above.

I even bought a set of plans. Hey maybe I should sell on Ebay!

Atlantic City was THE sea monkey capital of the world.  I think they even sold them in coin machines.  I never got over my eternal and perpetual disgust when they never hatched wearing top hats and berets in their hair--I think I convinced myself a few times when I was really young they were there but by around age 14 saw through the ruse.

Yeah, that was one of the dissapointing, great tragedies of my childhood as well.

Thanks Bill.  I added that Prismz site to my list of saved places.  That site looks like a blast !   I mean that both literally and figuratively.   LOL

Okay Steven.  I finally figured out how to submitt a song to the singers show case.  And I did.  It's under "Kellyoke."  Now,...from one "old timer" to another I think you could follow suit.  There's a bunch on here wanting to hear you.  You could a least do one if for nothing else for making fun of my avatar. LMAO

Kellyoke, that avatar is simply hideous...I can't find the proper words to describe it...where do people FIND such horrifying looking things? There's this and then Steven had that eerie multi-colored eyeball and xxKevinxx had what looked like a blinking one-eyed dead tree for a while (still taking medication from that one). Is there a website out there like "nastylookingavatars.com" that I'm missing?  Clue me in!

LOL Just stumbled upon it.  It's just an old man dressed in the 70's and he's grabbing his crotch.

Interesting story regarding my eyeball Michael.  Sad thing is, I actually intended on posting it because I thought it was attractive  LMAO   Just goes to show there's no accounting for aesthetic tastes in some of us.  I like prismic patterns, and the same site I went into where I got this current avatar, had the prismic eye.  So that was my first choice.  Then, when Babs mentioned it was strange,  I realized, she was correct.  It was.

The one you have now is quite pleasing Steven...I'd keep that for a while...actually, it's almost mesmerizing....oh, nothing wrong with that other avatar. It's that I was treated for prismatic eyeball disease (I had the cyan-green-magenta type) back in 1936 when all that was available to perform the surgery was a popsicle stick, a bottle of starch and a pack of matches--it was awful, let me tell you....
