This is ridiculous, now we've got a million threads in the Discussion forum ALL related to WHAT the hell we should or shouldn't be talking about.

*Should we talk karaoke stuff, or not?*

*Should we talk it here, or over there, or make a whole new room?*

Pa-lease..... We are arguing about WHAT we should be arguing about, and where best to do it. I think I need a loooong vacation.

I'm just gonna do what I do best, WHERE I want, WHEN I want..... unless Phil or the Admins tell me I'm doing something wrong, I'm gonna ignore this current batch of nonsense. If you don't like it..... ban me.

Thank you Bill for taking the time to review the whole interaction with a cool head.  That was needed.  PS:  Yes, my comment about the use of that word was in support of what Jeff was saying.  As you point out, it is very easy to miscontrue the intent of what we write sometimes.  Communication is a VERY complex issue when you get right down to it.  You could try to simplify your writing and appear "simple minded" or "crude" or you can use more expressive language and appear "haughty" or "highbrow".  Unlike every day personal conversation you cannot look or interact with the person you are speaking to and they cannot see any facial expression or body language that gives them some proper frame of reference to understand "where you are coming from".....nice job.

Yeah but doesn't the Wizard of Oz say "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain?"  Plus, that man behind the curtain is pulling switches to make lots of lights and noise and show, but in the end, he's really just another guy in a balloon.

Seriously, thanks for the attempt, bro! Peeps here make up their minds while reading 10% of what's written. It's never a big deal in the end. IE: who cares?

Some of the peeps who agreed to some of what was talked about were taking a step backward already with Chuck and basically jumping on him. Who cares if everyone likes how it goes here? With this many different people in here it will never be what any one person wants.

Next after Chuck, Jeff, Knightshow, and others had resolved some issues and differences - supposedly / potentially for all . Suzy of Full House Entertainment popped in right in the middle of everything, and just kind of blondly restated everything like no one had been discussing. She proposed what she preferred. Jeff apparently thought this was a bit funny and made a simple joke. However Suzy became apparently really offended. IMO she grossly overreacted and misjudged what Jeff had said. Perhaps Jeff, as he earlier stated was also a bit to aggressive in joking with her like that. Regardless, here assumptions of intent caused a problem and perhaps a bit too little patience with others.

So to summarize. Jeff was just trying to help improve a situation that he saw others in distress about. This is typical Jeff, as he is a bit of a knight in shining armor at times, and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. It takes nerve and steel to stick your head up so that people can throw their slings and arrows at you. Was he the best moderator in this thread?  - Perhaps not, but he did get some people talking and perhaps he pointed out the fact that we need a real solution here. Then again, this is just a few of us in this discussion. The majority of the forum has not spoken, or voted. That's why I say that if anyone really cares, then rather than grumble or call people names, or leave, or whatever we should have open discussion about the direction of this forum. We need buy in and we need support for that direction. Some of you have already addressed the issues and others suggested good ideas. To solve this the administration will have to agree, and change whatever structure, or rules, or moderation tactics are needed to make those suggestions and decisions a reality.

[Disclaimer: I probably left something out here, or a few things. Someone may think I insulted you - I did not intend to. Also, I do not claim to know all the answers to these dilemmas but thought that where these issues sat, were not a final good place to leave them. It appeared that for whatever progress was made, some folks got their 'feathers ruffled'. Hopefully some of what I have said have clarified some of the issues for some of you. I do not claim to speak for all of you, or even some - this is just my interpretation of things. PS: Also don't sit there and think 'hey this big Planet dude can type a lot and makes big wampum sense - let's make him a moderator'.  I don't want to be a moderator, or President of the US. I didn't know that the others mentioned resolved everything, I guess I missed the memo.  Apparently "blondly" restating everything that had been discussed was a big no no..  I'm not sure what blonde has to do with it but apparently you feel I should have realised Jeffieoke was not inviting posts and the subject was closed.  I'm glad you decided he was making a joke, no wait, was he getting people to talk?  He shut me down rather quickly after he got me to talk - oh yeah, I just restated everything that had been discussed...  How odd that he didn't clarify that he was joking in any of his following posts directed at me, or earlier today when he kind of apologized.  I didn't see any posts that indicated no other opinion of the situation was accepted...  BTW, my name is spelled Susie and... nice to meet you too.

In your opinion I " grossly overreacted and misjudged what Jeff had said."  Unlike you I had no opinion of Jeffieoke as I really haven't read many of his posts, I certainly didn't know he was a knight!  Glad to know.  I don't know if the "bit too little patience with others" was directed at me or not, if it was - apparently you already knew Jeffieoke was the salt of the earth, I had no reason to know that.  I merely posted in a thread and was categorized with a bunch of people he apparently doesn't have much time for.

You are entitled to your opinion.  While I'm sure your synopsis of the situation clarified it for some, please note that I honestly thought it was an open thread and have had no other contact with either of you.

Yep, just calling it the way I see it, as objectively as possible, and as you recall I wasn't part of that argument. You seem to think there's a conspiracy and people are out to get you and are putting you down but that is really not the case.

Jeff made a joke about the first thing you said, and I referred to it. As he stated, that isn't an attack, it's a joke. I also did mention that you made a suggestion but I guess you didn't catch that. It was 'She proposed what she preferred'. I didn't elaborate, but what I was saying was you proposed your solution in essence stating that what you had to say was actually legitimate. So really, I was backing you up a bit. Hope that clarifies it.

I think Jeff was pretty rude to her, but that was between them. She came in, yes after it was all said and done, but that's what people on these sites DOOOOO. that's why some wars go on for a long time. Someone else reads it and chimes in, stirring it all up again, intentional or not.
