As stated earlier by at least three people, we need a general discussion forum for topics outside of karaoke AND a general discussion forum for karaoke related topics only.  That way the two different camps don't have to wade through as much stuff that they aren't currently interested in.

Yesee, the problem with karaoke is the same problem we have with big government!  There's just too many karaoke bureaucrats in here trying to bring home the pork barrell karaoke back to Mommy!  

But we's just can't have that because it costs all of us in the end by making us read all kinds of posts about things like flirting and such. WTH does flirting have to do with karaoke. We're paying for this with minutes of our lives folks, and someday when we're lying on our deathbeds, we're all gonna be saying..."I shouldn't have read that thread about flirting! I shouldn't have....urrrk*"

The rules have simply changed... that's why I'm more present in the tech-related subjects.

I've complained & biyatched about those-that-shall-not-be-named as to why they feel it necessary to take over every serious thread I see. Frankly there's enough threads out there where they can talk their talk, and I can sit over and bask in the afterglow of yesteryear.

Look, times have changed, and we old dinosaur's are on the way to becoming oil. I've learned to deal with it.

It is not the "we can discuss almost anything" that bothers me and probably a bunch of others.  It is when the thread is about "rotation" or whatever and it quickly devolves into Uncle Jim's bunion or Aunt Erma's rash.  If you want to talk about those things, fine, but do it in a separate thread, not the "rotation" thread.  This way the members can read about the topics they are interested in without wading through what they consider crap.  This would be called ettiquette.

It amazes me that the people who talk about this so much don't have much else to say.  Start a thread and mark it (NO TARDS!).  Then you can talk about that new microphone you got until the cows come home. No one is trying to "take over" anything.  The talk in here is almost ridiculous sometimes. Anything mildly off topic is "tardy?"  

But it's nice those non-tards have something to talk about.  (Their new "He man Tards haters club!")

mIRC boots, kicks, and punts quite easily.  The ops don't tolerate much.  Try accessing some rooms coming from America Online.  As soon as they recognise your origin you are auto-booted..

I used to like the Fidonet areas.
