Figured I post this in here, rather than the tech thread for other technophobes such as myself who are into harmony but not overly technical.  What is a simple to program vocal processor that offers multitimbral features ?  Relatively inexpensive meaning under 400

Some karaoke machines have Chorus features or something similar.

Yeah once..   Than like all others, you'll be saying  "no amount of money will get me singing next to whatever that noise was ever again"

I did,  but I've forgotten.  So without cheating I don't recall the answer to this.

Steve,

Try something like the Digetech Vocalist Performer.  Runs any where from $250 - $300.  Google it and check it out.  I still have one that I used back when I played alot of "one man band" events.  I got the foot switch with it and it worked really great.  I'd get to the chorus line and hit the switch and "presto." :D

In the old days before furnaces.   People use to sleep with dogs in the bed for warmth.   On a really cold night, it would be considered a Three dog night.   More dogs, more heat.   LMAO

For some reason,  I thought it had to do with the Moon.

Is Chuck Negron THE vocalist for Blood Sweat and Tears now ?  Or was that just a temporary tour for him ?  What happened with David Clayton Thomas ?   Never did find this out.  Last I heard Negron was with BS&T.   The 1970 Album "It Aint Easy", was a fabulous collection of vocal work.... Was that Terry Kath, Chuck Negron, and some guy named Hutchins ?  Need to look this up.. Great vocalists.. Too bad only Negron survived.. Sad

I have an alesus multimix 6 fx mixer this has several vocal harmoniser options built in. You can opt for male or female harmonisers or even chipmunks if you so desire. The mixer is not expensive I paid $280 here in NZ so halve that I guess for USA

One thing I will say to anyone who is looking at using a vocal harmoniser...you have to be certain you are on the note or it sounds foul. Dont use them unless you can sing the song right through bang on key

The group actually got it's name after a trip to Alaska.  Bigdog is right on track though.  Depending on the cold it could be a 1, 2 or 3 dog night.  Since the three of them were the main ones to start the group they choose Three Dog Night.

The only thing I have is on old cassette tape.  Not rally sure how to get to the computer.  However, the model I put Kappy on to is great.  It actually creates up to two other voices.  You can make them both in the same key higer of lower than your voice; (of course) OR, have one higher and one lower.  It also has reverb and programing.

I have thought about hooking it up to my gig rig for karaoke.  Like alot of other things; trying to find the time.

Chuck's management licensed the rights for the use of the name BS&T. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Negron

Saw the show!  :(
There are no former members of BS&T. What’s worse, Chuck can't sing anymore. IMO just another bad attempt to rake in a few more dollars as a nostalgia act during the fair and festival season. Sad to say that this is the case with many of the groups from the late 60’s, early 70’s. Well as they say if you can remember that period then you weren’t there. By the way is that logical?

As I recall from awhile back, DCT had a very powerful voice that could knock the wind out've someones chest in the front row (at one time).  Is he allowed back in the state of Florida yet btw ?      I always wanted to be able to sing either like him or Burton Cummings,  Scorp, Boston vocals..  See, to me THAT'S rock vocals.  OK, that aside...LOL

OK,  so I'll have fun until the town confiscates it, and arrests me again for breach of peace  LOL.  Isn't this mating season for ferral cats ?   Noone will know the difference (until of course,  Cat's start flying south migrating to florida in the summer before the birds arrive), Well,  for a day I'll have fun.

OK...more comments to come..LOL.. Need to shop before 9 EDT here... 25 minutes, (need food, will travel)

I'll take care of your later request Michael.  Don't you worry.   Of course even if the pitch is correct, you'll never know it.   Call it a nuance of mine.

The Hammond reverb is where it all started I guess.  Well following caves, rooms, and other experiments.  Speaking of trivia.  Do you realize a duck's quack has no echo ?  OK,  this is about as technical as I get... LOL

BBL...

For those of you that love BS&T.  Earlier BS&T such as the song "Some time in Winter", isn't actually DCT singing is it ?  The timbre of the vocals doesn't sound like him.  Who was the vocalist prior to Thomas ?   Considering he was with them in the early 70's,  I find it interesting that they MIGHT have had a different initial vocalist ?  Not sure.  I could research their site, and find a history on them, however I figured since some of we middle-aged folks have an appreciation of these older Horn bands that really had great arrangements, someone might know this... Squid ?  are you THIS good ??  LOL        Would you know this ?  this is a TOUGH question with no referencing.

There early album with "And when I Die",  "Spinning Wheel", "You've made me so very Happy", and Evil McEi ???  <whatever> was classic DCT this I know... yet a few early songs were much mellower vocally.  Not the same depth of timbre

My all time favourite BS&T numbers are God Bless the Child and Hi de ho
both of course DCT took the lead vocals. I went to his website and he incidently now looks like a friend of mine who has just left his marriage for a transexual...not that I will hold that against him
