Its not the size of the smoker that counts its type of wood inside....

I know it's really hard to quit, though I'm lucky because I never started......but I sure wish you and everyone would quit......I've lost count of all the friends and family, that I have lost to cigarettes

The price here is about $300.
I'm thinking of taking $300 and putting it in an envelope. Then
giving it to my bf and telling him if I don't quit smoking in 30 days
I either make the appoimtment to do laser or the money is his.
I need motivation more than anything. The problem is I always say
I want to quit, but there never seems to be a good day to start.

Hey Babs, if you ever do try the laser thing, let us know if it worked please.

You betcha - I'd hate to think I'd need help doing it, but I haven't
been able to do it myself.

I guess I could spank you, every time you lit one up, but I'm afraid you'd be smoking more than ever.........I'm a really good spanker.... :)

Thanks Johnny, I will find a way that works. I appreciate you encouragement. I am trying to be honest with myself about this too. On the one hand I may not want to quit badly enough yet to overcome the addiction. On the other hand, it is a pacifier in my case.
Maybe I should just get a real pacifier.

Why wouldn't somebody first attempt a less invasive means of desensitisation, such as systematic relaxation, along the lines of hypnosis, etc. Hypnosis for those that were suggestible, seemed to have a decent success rate. I think it worked better with females than males, I don't recall

My Doc recomended gum or patches. We already have a dog so I can't bring patches home too. The gum might be good unless I weird out and light a cigarette after or whil chewing the gum. My heart might "blow up and kill this man."

Gum and patches are still substance. Hypnosis isn't. I'd try hypnosis first chuck. Ask your doc.

It works for some, not all. Those of us with stormy minds don't make the best subjects.

Good point. I don't want to replace one addiction with another. The two evils don't seem to have a lesser in this case.
