Hi!  I'm new.  Have been lurking for awhile. :)  New York based.

Songs that repulse me because they're overdone are:

Livin on a Prayer
Copa Cabana
Jack and Diane
Crazy
Black Velvet
Like A Virgin
Don't You Forget About Me
Sweet Caroline (kiss my asssss)

I think that's it for now!   LOL

Why people liked that eminem song "Cleaning out my closet" never made sense to me..  What a stupid song.  I realize there's a message there, of course I'm not one for using FM radio, or recording studio's to dis family members, but I suppose there's no law against it..

It's a bad sign when on a live tv show, they are using a music track. Singers should sing, not dance around like Madonna rejects. It's a sign that music today is just processed junk, given to the latest pretty face.

Can she sing though? No? Well, that's never stopped us before. Sign her up!

I'm really surprised:

Is NOBODY gonna mention "Goodbye Earl"

Or.... did I miss it somewhere?

Doesn't that suck?  It's just a travesty that I hope will turn around in the music industry.  It seems now that you don't even have to have musical talent to be a singer.  Just be hot and dance around.. have yourself *fixed* in the studio, and lipsynch your way through performances and you've got it made.  Makes me very sad.. and angry

Yeah, that's true Elisha, sad.... but true.

Heck, why spend money on vocal lessons these days, eh? I can just spend the bucks on getting a boob job & a face lift, and dress skimpy..... and I can be a starlette too.

That's why.... ( I KNOW alot of people don't like country music) But that is why I idolize those older, classic country artists. (Tanya Tucker, Loretta Lynn, Emmylou, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Hank Sr...etc, etc) Alot of their earlier recordings were recorded live in the studio, they sounded THE SAME on record and at their live perfomances. I mean, if you MADE it, you had talent- no bones about it. Some were ugly, some were pretty, some were tall, some were short.... but they ALL had a god given ability for music. Not like today....

I can understand how frustrating that must be for you Elisha. All I know is if you had a CD on the rack right now I'd buy them all up and give them to friends.  It bothers me to no end when I see how much money and adulation is given to these people who--if I may borrow a phrase from Mr. Kaplan--have all the innate talent and training of a pull-tab.

There is ANOTHER song for me i Hate... because it reminds me of "take it easy":) Is that pathetic? but, i agree.. i can't stand that song either:)

Actually, don't kick me anyone.. but i also can't stand the song "Maxwell's Silver Hammer"... get's on my nerves.. and justy ALWAYS sings it in the shower.. I wanna take a damn silver hammer to his head.

I ALSO hate MOST kids songs.... ANYTHING barny sings on his show.... And ANYTHING by "THE WIGGLES"... oh my gawd, the are trying to make kids stupid, i swear.

(but, i do love sharon lois and bram:)

I'm Every Woman. I might not dislike it AS MUCH if I would listen to the lyrics but I don't want to get close enough to try. Besides, my TV is top-heavy right now. If I watch Oprah on that TV it's liable to fall over.

Let's see.....

Hotel California
American Pie
Anything by Gretchen Wilson
(@$%&#!) by Meredith Brooks
When you say nothing at all
I will definately agree with Goodbye Earl
Oops I did it Again
VooDoo by Godsmack...I'm sure if I ever met someone who could actually sing it it would be a different story.
A Man of constant sorrow for the very same reason
Turn the page
I could go on and on

I took Paradise by the Dashboard Lights, out of my song book.    In 14 years I have only heard it done by one coulpe that could do it.   Everyone else, it's 8 1/2 minutes of torture.

Crazy is way over done as is,
Friends in Low Places,
Summer Nights,
Baby Got Back, big favorite of White Male wannabe rappers.
My Way, for the biggest HAMS in the building.    The double applause thing.
You Never Even Called Me By My Name, as sung by every drunk.
Me and Bobby Magee.
I Can't Help Falling In Love With You.
You Oughta Know,  Big Screaming Swear Word.....
