I agree,  Peavey is great bang for buck stuff IMO.  I won't "dis" any of this stuff. Whether it's Yorkville, Peavey, etc..  The Scorpion, and Black Widow cabs are excellent sounding IMO.. I'm beyond the "name snob" game these days.  I'm not rolling in money..  Peavey makes workhorse equipment at an affordable price..

Was in a room yesterday where they were Dis'ing JBL pro-audio... to them, "Martin Logan is the speaker discerning ears buy".. LMAO

Yep,  I don't have any other expenses besides audio speakers. Why buy food and gas, or pay rent when you can have Martin Logan speakers instead ?

If I could afford it, I would buy all McCauley speakers - some of the best made IMO.

Martin Logan Speakers are Home Speakers.

I would rather have Klipsch.

TurboSound is what you hear at MANY large concert venues.  They finally started producing a small scale affordable speaker.  I'm assuming you are referring to the TXD series.  Yes these are very nice speakers, sound clean.  Provided of course you have the proper power pushing them.  The TXD-151 require 600 watts per channel into 8 ohms.  These speakers do cost a bit more than others in some aspects.  Their subs in the TXD line are a little lacking, not as high power handling as other brands in the same price ranges.

Ive heard about them from dj's and read about them on pro sound web forums.  In particular the AC 58 for a sub.

What power range have you heard Lon? I would love to hear a system in the range AES 1kw-3kw. They are one brand I havnt heard or read a bad review yet...

I couldn't tell you exact models, but one of the clubs I ran sound for bands at had a McCauley system for a house PA.  2 dual 15" subs per side with 2 dual 12"/horns per side.  The subs alone were being fed by 4 QSC PLX3002 (bridged per dual cab - 3000 watts per cab) & the tops were bi-amped with 2 QSC PLX2402 for the mids & 2 QSC PLX1602 for the highs.  I'm telling you what, i've worked with some pretty killer systems in comparable size involving JBL/Crown and other major combos & none of those even came close to the sound that I heard that night.
But again, that's why they cost so much!  This is another brand you see in major touring applications.  Damn manufacturing plant & corporate headquarters is about 3 miles from my house too - think i'm going to go on a tour this week :)

I have Turbosound mains and subs. They are nice speakers and you can drive the living daylights out of them 600 watt mains rule. They do naturally sound a bit harsh on the high end. I have never gotten used to them being Blue either.

QSC PLX 3402 to drive the mains

QSC PLX 3602 to drive the 18" subs

Basicly the same amp the 3602 is the replacement for the now discontinued 3402.
