I love my yamaha club series 15 inch, i use -4- for mains powered by a carvin 2570 amplifier,700 watts per channel into 8 ohms, these speakers love alot of power to achieve their full spectrum. Also i use -4- 12 inch yamaha club series powered by a crown XLS-602 amplifier 370 watts per channel into 8 ohms for a monitor mix.GREAT BANG FOR THE BUCK SPEAKERS.

Hmm..any speakers that sound good are "good to use," powered or unpowered. I've never heard of Audio Choice, but you may have made the wrong audio choice. Just kidding, they are probably fine for home use.

Wattage is your true output power rating. You want to match your amp output as closely as possible to your speaker's PROGRAM output rating. To get the most out of your 300 watt speakers (make sure that is the PROGRAM rating, and not the PEAK rating), you need a 300 watt/channel stereo amplifier to go with them. 300 watts isn't a BAD rating, though most pro-KJs won't run mains less than 500 watts. For your own use at home, 300 is more than enough.

Ohms is a rating of electrical impedence, basically what type of direct current electricity your speakers are rated for (the volt/amperage ratio your speakers can handle). Most PA speakers are rated to 8 ohms each, though some are rated to 4 ohms. When you are buying an amplifier for your speakers, you want to make sure the wattage/ohms both match, i.e., the speaker needs to produce 300 watts/channel into 8 ohms (if, in fact, each of your speakers ARE rated to 8 ohms.

If you have a more specific question, feel free to ask!!

Yamaha Club S115 are a decent speaker, you would need an amp that pushes 500 watts into 8 ohms to make them run efficiently & less risk of blowing them.

If it's the same AudioChoice i'm thinking of, it is an even lower division of the low quality SoundTech audio.  The AC12T can only take a 200 watt per channel @ 8 ohms amp max.

What Speakers are good to use ?  Very Broad question.
The Yamahas are a very good choice (ClubSeries SV15V).
They are affordable, great sounding , and can handle MOST indoor applications with a decent amp.  Porbably wouldn't go wrong with a pair of these.

But depending on your needs can be TOO MUCH speaker.
What are your plans  Prof KJ ?  Home USE?  little bit of both?

I am amazed at how many KJ's use the Yamaha Club series.

The speakers are cheap and there are so many better choices, everyone has their preferances.

Active speakers my 1st choice would be QSC, or Mackie

Passive i would choose FBT, Turbosound, or JBL

All manufactures have different lines of speakers The more money you spend on a set of speakers the better speakers you will get.

It all depends on your preference.  I have both powered and non powered.  Depending on the situation, I decide wether to uses powered or non-powerd speakers.  As a rule of thumb I use the non-powered spekers at larger venues, and the powered ones at smaller venues.  If outdoors I definatly use the non-powerd speakers.

But like I said, it is all up to you.  If possible try renting some and see witch you like better.
