I can see playing ceratin songs to a young crowd could cause certain activity
to happen. I know I wouldn't want a mosh pit to start up. LMAO

We do not censor our books. If we have it it is in there. We will not censor at bars. The only exception is if management asks for it. In 15 years only one bar did. It shut down within the year.
We will censor if children are present at receptions or special events.

MY book is sensored, as is Lonmans. As for telling people what to sing during the night. I like the way the natural selection goes 90% of the time. It almost takes care of itself. Slow sings mixed with country songs, etc. Makes for the gentle up and down flow of the crowd. If I have to, I will change the tempo with a song selection that I will do. But it usually handles itself.
Play 20 punk songs in a row. See where your crowd goes. See what will happen to the ones that are left. How do you think they will act? Like a Sunday school class? Crowd control is a thing I do, and always will. I read the crowd. I see if they are talking and looking as if they are having their last drink here. I notice many more things than the average person. I can tell who's getting lucky and who isn't, before they know it. I can tell it on someone else, but not with myself. Go figure.
The type of music that is the mostly played, will attract that type of crowd. If the songs selected are evenly mixed throughout the night, then so will the crowd. If it gets lopsided then you must make changes.
Pretty hard to mosh to Rock of Ages. LMAO

Quote: Music is still NOT the cause. Most of the other stuff mentioned are used in clinical or controlled type settings.
My own feelings, are that if you follow the same group of males that had a history of "bar fighting" over the next 30 year period, you'll find that the cause is often alcoholism. Many of these kid's are beginning to learn that they are alcoholic, and can't drink... In this sense, I'm speaking firsthand knowledge. I exhibited classic alcoholic behaviour from my first night out drinking until finally it sunk in about 10 years later that I can't drink, ever again, it was the magic substance for inducing worse mental illness than the behaviour your folks already see from me LOL I was losing control and it's as though I was a stranger watching myself from the outside.. VERY scary.
Often those fighting, are beginning to learn that they can't handle ethyl alcohol, that their reaction to the drug is obnoxious, stupid, invasive behaviour which invades the space of others, and set's a lovely stage for a fight. If they are lucky the stop after a few bar fights and minimal arrests, sometimes they keep going and the bar fight than becomes domestic abuse, or wife battering.... homocide, or longer term imprisonment. Today there are reasons people don't drink quite as much and go out... It's logical as to why there are less barfights as a result, drinking age raised to 21....stricter carding at bars, and people knowing as face, get busted for DUI and you're screwed.... Just ask Mel Gibson
(I though Mel was "born again", doesn't he know you aren't supposed to mess with the spirits or demon alcohol ?)

Or if they've been drinking alcoholically, a room in a local psychiatric facility where they can be monitored during the first 36 hours, of an acute phase of possible withdrawal. From there, perhaps to jail...All depends.. I'm sure in some area's it's not a concern to the local P.D. if the person goes into seizure's, but around here they won't risk that happening, tremendous liability, police stations aren't equipped for medical emergencies, so they go right to a detox center, and are detained there. Some substances they don't mess with, alcohol can have a serious withdrawal... Usually these folks are given a free ride by ambulance strapped to the stretcher to a hospital cell... They are kept under medical supervision.. All depends on how heavily the person has hit the juice

I was singing during tha last barfight I saw. Cabaret. Apparently not everyone likes show tunes.
Actually it was two chicks, one of them pregnant, and somebody had dissed someobdy's friend or something. I dunno, I kept singing. My step-mother-in-law broke it up. If you knew her you would realize what a hoot that is.

Yeah Jian, I could never figure out when we flew to europe a few times why the plane was over iceland, until I realized they fly at an arc because it's a shorter distance than flying the straight latitude.. It was interesting looking out've one side of the plane and seeing daylight, while the other side of the plane was pitch black... Never was that far north before. We flew once in a converted DC-8 (not a stretch DC-8) but a cargo plane... That was a horroble flight flying over the Alps.... It was like driving in a car without shock absorbers over a really bumpy road...constant for 2 hours... I was just about ready to open the door and step out... The matterhorn didn't look too far below anyway...
