I guess I don't get it. Why do people even have to sign in separately to get into Singer's Showcase and Karaoke Scene? I can never get the auto-logins to work either. It'd be very cool if in a person's profile there was a button that would take you straight to that person's subbing list. Anybody have other ideas to get things integrated better?

Auto login usually won't work if you have your browser security settings set to empty your temporary internet cache and delete cookies...

That has always bugged me too. I wish I could just log in once and be able to access both. That way you could flip back and forth without logging in each time.
Great idea!

I think the arrangement makes sense. Here's why. You don't need to be logged into SS to hear a song, or listen, ANYBODY can hear you.. You do need to be logged in to leave comments, and read comments however, and to me THIS makes sense, I feel SS should be more private, reason being, I think since SS is a more musically/ artistically interactive area of KS (where people invest more of themselves, take time to perform), while all can hear you.. It's a good thing NOT ALL can leave comments, and return to haunt you that easily.. Also a difference is, without signing in, you can no longer read comments, critiques, etc. in the showcase. I believe that those that take the time to present something in Singer's Showcase should be slightly more protected from bashing, and those that want to torment them.. Why is it important for the whole internet world to read your comments, just like the whole internet world can read us on these bboards, whether members, or not ? Why should all find out about more detailed areas of your lives, things you might wish to share with other singer's in SS ? SS is just the type of place where those that are really into singing, and sharing invest more (or a different area of themselves) than the standard bboards... Perhaps Signing into Singer's Forum, and Singer's Showcase should be the same... But I can understand why those of us that just come to chat in an open forum discussion room, shouldn't as easily have access to reading all the comments and feedback, and even writing their own in comment areas over in SS. I just don't view SS, the same as I do chatting in a general discussion room.. I believe those that share an artistic skill become somewhat more vulnerable... It's more "real", there's more "ego" involved.
JMO...

Well, what I was getting at is if a person becomes an official member of KS and SS and has a username, that person should have easier access to the full features on both sides without the multiple logins and logouts. A casual guest who hasn't gone through the process of joining would not have the ability to read and write comments or make posts.

The administration pays more for HIGH visibility all over the internet. They WANT bew members. THat's how they make their money hopefully. We are VERY visible in here to ALL.. and that's by choice. A few actually suggested last February that those outside DON'T read SS comments and Critique...Prior to that everyone could read all... I've only been here a little over a year, so it'd be better if one of the veterans answer this, however, I believe KS is a business, it's a magazine based out've California, this isn't your typical friend generated BBS.INternational is what they want.. Paying members is how they make money having a board such as this.
I should probably get over to CitySearch and a few of the other business review sites, and write more positive feedback for the site... Outside of the Amazon comment, It's the least I could do... I've been know to create a post or two over here on occasion btw !

I can go from one to the other without logging in on my home computer but here at work I have to log in separately.

It sounds like your work computers won't accept cookies. This would be set by the network administrator and I don't recomend changing it.

I thought it was just because I never tell my work computer to remember anything like this....

We actually talked about this a couple months ago but Kappy thought it wasn't necessary or something like that.

Sure. I just thought of something that might solve your problems. Set this as your home page and you're good to go:
