SO check this out...

Those dame ebay people NOW are saying it wont play SCDGs

I messaged them saying I will leave the worst feedback and ruin them on ebay if they dont exchange my RSQ for a CAVS 203

I hope this works. Maybe I should threaten to sue next time.

I swear this is the last time I buy anything from ebay... (i've said that before)

Calm down cupcake. First of all, one negative review is not going to ruin anyone on Ebay. It may have an initial impact, but it's not going to ruin them. Yes maybe they may have been negligent on assisting you personally. But the problem started with the unit itself. The vendors can only go by manufacture specs, and sometimes it takes a while for the whole scenario to play out and flaws to become obvious. The fact that they did post a retraction on earlier claims and are willing to do the the upgrade, shows a positive approach on their part. A cool demeanor can accomplish more than the over used, over heard a billion times...'I'm gonna sue you' will ever do. Best bet is to start over from scratch. A simple note along the lines of, 'Hey look, sorry I got all excited earlier, but I really need a dependable karaoke unit, and to be honest, bottom line is, I'm just not happy with the one that I bought. What can we do to work this out.' If you still feel like they're blowing you off, be the bigger person, use a firm but fair approach. If that fails, Ebay is set up with a customer complaint area. It's also in Ebays best interest to keep complaints to a minimum. Chances are though, they will do the responsible thing and make the  right decision. I know that when you're at point A and the vendor is at point B, which may be on the opposite side of the county, that you can feel a bit helpless and angered about what to do. But let cooler heads prevail. They want your money, and you want a reliable player, it's in both parties interest to work it out. If you want to vent, vent to Vocopro, after all they're the ones that put a flawed unit out on the market.

I think the ebay complainer WAS talking about the RSQ model not the VP.

DADGUMMIT, you mean I worked up all that fatherly advice for nothing????
Oh well, nevermind, forget what I said, pretend it's just an old man lost from the hospital who stumbled across this message board and decided to ramble on and on about nothing. Hmmm, kinda sounds like the rest of my post. :D
Thanks Lonman, glad you cleared it up for me. I guess sometimes responding to a  post is like putting some kids swing set together, when all else fails, READ the instructions.

Keep in mind that depending on the item you are thinking of purchasing on Ebay. Many of the mail order music stores offer free S&H when you make a purchase over $99, and they will price match competing retailers.. Ebay S&H can be considerable. You also receive POMG when purchasing from MF, SamAsh, or AMS that if there's any problem, you don't get stuck paying return  shipping, and postage.. They issue you a call tag.. If there's a problem, there's less hassle, and a much better warantee policy much of the time... I'd pay a little extra and buy from the larger retail music outfit... You likely WON'T be paying a little extra when all is said and done anyway...Your CC also gives you certain protection.  Ebay isn't my first choice for new production A/V equipment... I want a reputable larger retailer who I know packages well, ships NIB unopened, and will give me the best warantee on the item I can get, and even be around in 90 days assuming I need to use it... I also have a phone number to call and scream... VERY important !

Haha thanks for the calming advice. I was just very angry at the player at that time.

I know feedback wont ruin them ofcourse and I was totally joking about suing.

I will be persisting with them on how we can resolve all this in a calm way. I just felt I was lied to when she told me it has never happened before on the phone.

I shall get this all straigtened out in the end.

Thanks

I am convinced after reading these posts that the new players just aren't cutting it.
I think the way to go is to buy a vintage player.
I bought a refurbished RSQ MV-333 triple tray and it works like a charm.

Here's one on e-aby. http://cgi.ebay.com/RSQ-MV333-Karaoke-Player-CDG-VCD-Triple-Tray_W0QQitemZ230012371707QQihZ013QQcategoryZ14989QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
