Has anybody been following this rock "AI-like" show?  I haven't but I just learned that a singer from Portland, OR named "Storm" Susan Large is doing pretty good on it.  I guess I'll have to start watching this thing just to see how she does.

I've seen her in person at one of her shows.  She does songs of her own and very unique versions of cover tunes.  She's actually pretty funny too!  LOL   I've only seen her lounge act at this rather swanky place in Portland.  I didn't know she was this much of a rocker though.

I shouldn't say this but she looks to much like one of my cousins, but not any that live in Oregon.

...as far as I know anyway.

The following statement is my opinion:
The majority of the vocalist this year are definitely lacking, without a clue as to what they're doing and who they're auditioning for.
Last year's 'Rock Star INXS' the vocalist were top notch, presented themselves in a much more professional manner.
I find it hard to believe that for a national contest the current bunch is supposedly the best of the best, if that's the case, how sad it must be for 'Supernova' to have to pick from this group. Most of them are so young, that they were just children when, Gun's N Roses/Metallica/Motley Crue were in their prime. There are a couple that stand out from the pack, but overall the pickins are pretty slim. But then again, I guess I'm just jealous that I'm not up there, so maybe my comments are a bit biased and I'm the one who's out of the loop when it comes to what America looks for in it's talent.
But regardless of my opinion, if I were there, I would still wish each and everyone of them nothing but the best. They may not win the contest, but the publicity and experience that comes from auditioning for a show such as this is priceless.
May the best person win.

P.S. I'm still holding out and hoping that Ozzy will eventually retire and Black Sabbath will give me a call.....LOL (just teasing)

My observation has been that last year's group was MUCH better. I think this group "looks the part", but doesn't have the vocals to back it up. There's one guy whose name I can't remember...I just call him Mumbles McBobblehead because he slurs his words (ACK!) and bobs his head around like his spine is elastic. I loved last season...this is almost unwatchable. Thank goodness I have Dave Navarro to drool over...

And James, I'll be at that gig, too!

I had the unfortunate occation to watch a bit of "THE ONE" last night, which is another AI ripoff. THOSE singers were absolutely horrible!! I would say that my karaoke bar has people that gave better performances than 4 out of the 6 I saw on that show!! They try to advertise themselves as an AI where the talent also plays their own instruments, but that didn't make up for the fact that they were boring perfomers and average vocalists!

Chris, I've been watching "The One" also, and it just makes me yearn for AI and Nashville Star...

I finally saw my first show.  Some of those singers are really pretty bad.  The ones on last nights "bottom three" show were especially bad.  Storm Large from Portland is doing really well though IMO.  She's singing, acting and looking the part well.
What she's doing here is a far cry from what she sounded like in her lounge act routine that's for sure!!!  The volume and intensity has been cranked up tremendously!  LOL
