Now that I aint doin reg gigs anymore and even have more idle time on my hands I'm tying to decide what to do with the old .com. I had a regular karaoke business type web for a few years and it really wasnt generating much business. The tech stuff I moved to.info and this site has been idle.. I originally bought software for an elaborate calender and had all the good KJ's in northern co listed by venue and schedules..Now I wouldnt list most around here now if they paid...
What I would like to build a new site to promote karaoke in this area and if somebody searches the web for local karaoke, it would pop up in google again...Also I would like to build a new web ring with (real sucessful) KJ"s in other areas. There are more kj's on here now with successful web sites although I havnt checked them out for awhile.
So what I am looking for is suggestions for page design, themes, and general ideas for building a new site again. My old site wasnt that shabby but I know there are sites now that actually generate business.. Google code3dj for an example of one my old buddys sites for Fort Collins..

Get some affiliates through shareasale.com & set that site up as a store along with karaoke clubs in your area - maybe county, state. You could do reviews on clubs from a singers standpoint?

It depends what you want the site to achieve for you're looking for it to generate income selling advertising is probably the easiest way assuming your site has the right traffic..
If you have a genuinly popular site with a decent volume of quality traffic you can make a fair ammount off google adsense. But unless you have large ammounts of traffic you're not going to be able to retire off it.
You could probably sell advertising to karaoke retailers and relted parties directly as well.
There are plenty of free and open source projects around that yo could use to implement it without to much hassle.
