I was fortunate to serve under a Commander-In-Chief that stood up and told Russia there will be missliles in Cuba....There was not a sailor marine or any other GI that wouldnt die for him...I think during that ordeal we were 3 weeks at general quarters with orders to to board and sieze...

He was one that predicted the mideast crisis. Now what do we have?  The Prime Minister of Lebanon is begging for help and there isnt a head of a major power with enough balls to help..  Our pres is sniveling into a mic that he didnt know was on.  I could crawl under a rock and weep..Congress is busy passing a resolution u haf to stop  boo hoo hoo u haf to stop. If they could stop their political crap and stand behind the Commander-In-Chief we wouldnt be in his predicament to start with. North Korea and Iran is playing this country like a yoyo...Time out!!!! Time out!!!! I rember a time when if the pesident of this country sais no there was only one thing it meant NO

I can come up with a plan thats makes more sense than their bs..   Round up all the street gangs here and turn them loose in Bagdad.....Then the gi's they replace can go to southern lebanon.

With the police tactics and inept crowd control and social engineering you want to talk tough?   Our kids are fedup and getting meaner and meaner And I'm talking 12 year olds.  She refused tp put on her roller skates....latest

Oil falls as Mideast violence not seen spreading
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says a cease-fire should happen 'as soon as possible when conditions are conducive to do so.'
July 18 2006: 2:47 PM EDT

NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Oil closed below $74 a barrel Tuesday as concerns the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah would spread eased after Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said a cease-fire should come as soon as possible.

U.S. light sweet crude closed down $1.80 to $73.50 a barrel after hitting a high of $76.55 a barrel earlier in the day. London's Brent crude gave up $1.05 to trade at $74.87 a barrel.

Oil prices came off sharply after Rice said a cease-fire should happen "as soon as possible when conditions are conducive to do so."

"We were thinking over the weekend that this conflict would expand, possibly to involve Syria and Iran. Now there is growing belief that this will not enlarge, though it may drag on for a while," said Mark Waggoner, president of Excel Futures in Huntington Beach, California..............

Most Israeli males I know fear their wives  LOL .  Firsthand I have no experience with Israeli females, I've known plenty, but the ones I've known are too loud for me, I just don't find alot of the character of many of these females, as well as appearance attractive...Of course that's just MY OWN feeling...Nothing factual of course.. I'm not attracted to them.... But German females.... They are the worst of both worlds.  Often extremely attractive (IMO of course), and tough tough women !  Don't let petite stature, blond hair, blue eyed stuff fool you !   These are monstrosities awaiting to happen LMAO.. I'm extremely attracted to the German type appearances of many females.... The stereotypical "Scandinavian" blonde haired blue eye'd female is more of a German, slovakian, polish type look... That area of europe,  It's an Aryan look,  I'm not supposed to find that attractive... Oh well... with some of the Irish facial features thrown in...  That's the California blond...
I think alot of makeup is often thrown in as well   LMAO

This is going to get VERY ugly.  I'm afraid this might very well be a 3rd world war within a short time.

If I remember right it took them 6 days last time. One of the few I have utmost respect for and trust is Condoleeza Rice.. She more than anybody else can sway minds and events in a diplomatic manner..Destiny has a way of changing history and what is playing out right now was written long ago. This is one the most critical periods that will determine the future of generations to come. And I hope world leaders now can stand and make the right decisions and comittments.

Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen. -- Samuel Adams

These two look like they're having way too much fun!  Shouldn't they maybe have expressions other then big smiles on their faces?

Why are there 25,000 "Americans" living and working in Lebanon?   Don't they harbor terrorists?   We have to use my tax dollars to get them out?    Now we are sending in humanitarian aid, to help the people that harbor terrorists.   Something is wrong with this picture.

What's happening over there (Modern Times) has been ongoing since Israel became a country and even further since Biblical times.  Only the weapons have changed.  Israel always use the same tactics.  You take down one of us and we'll take 10 of yours.  This present situation isn't Israel going to war with Lebanon.  They are going after a terrorist group called Hezzbolah.  Now some may say they are an elected party but they have about as much legitamacy as the Nazi party in Germany.  Actually less.  The Nazis never sent suicide bombers into shopping areas etc and blew up civilians, theirs or the enemies.

This will not result in WWIII.  In fact the Six Day War would have been closer to start WWIII as the Soviet Union were allied with most of the Arabic countries and the West with Israel.  Right now there is no other Superpower than the US at the moment.  Most of the former Soviet Bloc are a part of NATO and the Arab world still does not have the military strength of Israel.

Mideast talks fail to reach cease-fire agreement

Wednesday, July 26, 2006; Posted: 9:41 a.m. EDT (13:41 GMT)

ROME, Italy (CNN) -- Talks between key Middle East players in Rome on a plan for ending the 15-day-old conflict in Lebanon Wednesday failed to reach agreement on an immediate cease-fire.

Officials called a halt to the conflict, but U.S Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said any cease-fire must be "sustainable."

U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan reiterated calls for the deployment of an international peacekeeping force, but there was no consensus on its creation.

Leaders made agreements on humanitarian aid and reconstruction, but discussions faltered as the United States resisted demands for an immediate cease-fire, insisting that a cessation of hostilities must be part of a wider plan to permanently disarming Lebanese Hezbollah militants.

Rice said she had been moved by an impassioned plea by Lebanon's Prime Minister to "stop the killing" but said the U.S. favors long-term efforts to end "spasms of violence" in the region.

Tensions were raised during the discussions by the deaths of four U.N. military observers in an Israeli attack on a U.N. outpost. (Full story)

The incident, claimed as a mistake by Israel, has been condemned by the international community, with Annan describing it as "apparently deliberate."

Participants agreed to continue discussions, but CNN's John King said there was a sense among European and Arab leaders that the United States was buying time for Israel in its offensive against Hezbollah.

One source involved in the talks said everyone but the United States wanted to press ahead with an immediate cease-fire, but Rice argued that taking that approach would leave Hezbollah in place and still armed with its rockets.

Rice also expressed concern over what she said was Iran and Syria's involvement in the conflict, while Annan said that future dialogue should involved Tehran and Damascus.

I saw a report on the daily show recently where the reporter was reading from copy written 30 years ago. It was almost entirely accurate to the current situation.

From past experiences one cant know a country or its citizens according to news reports. Go to any country and most are open friendly and just want live in peace and rear their children in safety and prosper.  \

Here is a report that refects that.   click

The travesty is the wholesale killing of civilians esp women and children. Anyone who would sacrifice his mother or daughters for his own selfish cause is scum and a coward.

I once worked with a man who is Persian. A very peaceful and upright guy, he was one of my best friends.

This report on the people of Iran reflects many of the ideals we have here, that we are not represented and ties to factions can backfire.

I agree completely.
