Sharon you're one of the smartest people I know personally. While it's true I never met a Nobel prize winner, or a Rhodes Scholar, I know some pretty smart people.

Compassion is so very limited in the world and you have an abundance of it.

BTW - I know what it's like to feel that way. I am the least intelligent person in my family. It's cool though, my dad is proud of me for some reason.

So they call me Chuck the sequal instead of Chuck the second.

He is not the least intelligent person in his family. His is the least egotistical about his intelligence. (They are a great bunch of people, but when you get that many people with an IQ of over 130 in a room it can get overwhelming.)

I stopped drinking something like 15 years ago (I don't even count); this from a person that could drink 8 Long Island Iced Teas for a warm up.  That was easy.  Smoking is harder although I've cut back my intake significantly.

Oh, and James...how's it going with giving up alcohol? Chuck and I fell into a habit of not drinking as much a few years ago, and while we are certainly not teetotallers, somehow there is just not a need for a bottle of beer or glass of wine as often. When we go out singing, we usually drink, but even if we go out for dinner, we usually order tea. You will not have any problems, I think.

It is Saturday morning and still no cigarettes. The hand-mouth fixation is the rough part for me. The big test will be the next time we go out; I have gotten back into the karaoke-beer-cigarette habit.

I haven't been prepared YET to put on extra weight and I have been doing it since high school. Since I am more or less sticking with Chuck's no-MSG diet, and am drinking more water, I have laid the foundation for not gaining any additional Gigi. I need to start walking or something, though. I am already shaped like a dumpling, but smoking doesn't help you slim down, so I might as well quit again. (Yeah, I backslid.) My Tai Chi classes were making me uncomfortable (too many people--I would be happier with a smaller class) so I need to find a good plan B for that.

I recently quit taking my Wellbutrin (antidepressant, for the uninitiated) as well. Odd timing, since it is the same stuff as Zyban. I just looked at the bottle one day and said, "Why am I taking this?"

Ok, I am being too verbose. I need coffee. Or to go back to bed. But as long as we all do what we can to survive...and thrive...we will all be fine.

While my baby is out of town this week, I hope to be more successful quitting this Tuesday.

I actually plan on quitting every Tuesday until I get it right.
