Could call it the "War of man's evil nature."  But that acronym spells out "WOMEN."  I think that's part of another thread.

OK,  Now I get it !!    So women are the root of all evil  LMAO

Let's take a look at the word "WOMEN"... Two syllables,  two vowel's, and three consonant's...  Notice any similarities to another word with those same characteristics ?   Let's see !!!!!

Any loyalties we think other countries have with us now can change in an instant in the event of a war. The more we take for granted now, the less we will have in the future.

I'm gonna go burn some insense now.

i personally am not much into war or conflict, however....

i think larry hit it on the head when he compared iraq and what's going on in the middle east...we don't know who the enemy is.  it's pretty scary.

israel is a friend of the u.s., just like numerous other countries and as friends we don't like to see our friends get "beat up".  isreal has taken a lot a bunk throughout history and it's about time they stand up and say enough.  the ones who are against them are the same as were against us going into irag; france, german, russia.  now those countries want a "piece of the pie" as far as contracts and the rebuilding of irag.  i say screw you.  you bad mouthed us, you called us all sorts of names and now you want to stake a claim in the "spoils" (i use that term metaphorically).

the media wants us to fight a war by certain rules.  absolutley not a possiblity.  we can only do so much.  we americans treat even our prisoners of war with great respect and they are well taken care of.  the media likes to pick out only the bad things that are going on, not just in the war but in local news too.  it's all over the tv.  that's why i don't much watch the news.  it's very one sided, very liberal and most of the time just plain wrong.

when was the last time you heard about the schools that have been built, or the power plants, or the water lines, or the fact that in iraq the cell phone purchases went from about 1,000 to over 100,000!  you don't ever hear about that.  people want to hear about the bad stuff.  just like driving down the road and rubber necking at an accident.

france would be speaking german if not for us.  it just hacks me that people think americans want to rule the world.  we don't.  we just want peace and for everybody to have a chance, as is their God given right.

for a country that is hated as much as is seems, people from all over the world sure want to come here to live their dreams, for the best education, for the best medical care, etc.

we ain't perfect, but by golly gee, we are pretty darn close.

i support our troops, i love our country and anyone who messes with us or one of our friends, well here comes a can of whoop a$$.

i spent 8 years in the navy during the 80's.  i spent alot of time in the orient and the middle east.  there are probably so many stories you haven't heard about things that the military does that prevents "major" events happening.

but unlike the vietnam war, which was run by politicians, this war is run by the military, by the men who are paid to make those strategic decisions.

it is scary that certain countries have the capabilites to make, or have made nuclear weapons (except the crash within minutes of firing them).

we live in a different world.  a world with crazy zealots on both sides.

you know, this topic is pretty scary and sad at the same time....i think i'll have some ice cream.

Well put phat same story as yours about 9 years during the sixties. We were the the warship (seveth fleet flag ) to pull into Cherbourg France since D-Day... It was one of the most emotional experiences I ever had. We were in dress whites manning the rails For those that dont know a sailor is standing at parade rest at the rail every four feet from stem to stern . As we pulled into the harbor our saluting battery echoed between the hills Then the french aswered with their saluting battery. It is impressive to say the least. We vtied up port side to the old pier During special sea and anchor detail colors (old glory)is shifted from the fantail to a high point aloft. The national anthem of the hosting country is played over the 1mc (pa) as well as the stars and stripes.

Old men in suits work clothes and partial uniforms lined and crowded the pier with their hands on their hearts and openly wept. Tears washed the sweat from my face and all there were changed forever. Yet the liberfal (@$%&#!) press was putting out the word that nobody abroad had any respect for the American flag anymore.

I chose one local station usually it is rape internet predator dah de dah this is calm And you wonder why the world has no respect for us....Lead story the conflict next story teen age sex!!!!! And it is constant nonstop....I get so tired of this liberal bs I could scream..Just what do you think a kid in any foriegn country thinks of Denver or America?

Anyway I have been waiting for this day ever since they bombed the US marines barracks in Beirut along with other things...I have looked into their eyes and seen things that I hope people here never have to ....

I believe in the right to defend myself, and do what it takes to survive. *I* have invested interest in me.  Few others do. I believe if you must fight,  fight wisely. I suppose I enjoy fighting at times, because sometimes it feels good (to me), othertimes, I don't care enough !  I'm not much different than many other living critters I suppose. I'm also aware I have a limited capacity of strength and energy. I believe other countries have the right to defend themselves, and at times, they must.

This is very true.  It's just the degree of war that changes.

Also, we as US citizens (not talking about our soldiers) don't really ever experience war because it's always "over there somewhere".

This is starting to get scary now!  I strongly recommend that everybody stop flirting long enough to go over to CNN.com and read up on the latest developments.

As of a few years back it had always been "18".  I guess it still is, unless it's been lowered, or raised due to middle-eastern situations these days..

Bigdog,  you want a scare of your life ?  Try standing up to an Israeli woman LOL .  ALL the israeli (actually german women too) that I've known are pretty tough invdividuals.  Of course I know this is stereotyping but still.... You want a black eye ?  Mess with an Israeli female,  these are tough gals from what I've learned

1)  Irish female with more than two drinks under her belt
2)  Angry Israeli woman
3)  German Dominatrix trying to collect for bounced check
