This wasn't even about speech impediments Gilly... was about people not being able to say certain words cause they are tongue twisters... or just people being dumb.

Umm...
Fierrynette? Why do you come off as rude?
The title was blah blah blah "and other words you can't pronouce correctly".... and phatrat asked what words we had problems saying.... I answered.
And, there are a MILLION words I can't say correctly.. and are comical to hear.... but, they ARE because of my slight speech problem...
I'd say that I fit the topic.
And, i only explained because of crystal's "rural" remark. i was joking... Goodness woman.
And, "rear wheel drive" IS a gd f'n tongue twister to me. Eat me.
(however, for the record, I am the queen of tongue twisters... EVERY one of them and super fast too)
Jesus. Sorry I even posted.

And, singing squid.. nope, no tongue ring:) That was the one body part i haven't, and WILL never pierce (my little sister has one though... ack, i hate watching it when she talks.. like, there is ALWAYS a piece of food moving around on her tongue..."
I don't think my "other" piercings affect how I talk;)

Gilly, actually I wasn't being rude, just letting you know the thread wasn't directed at you. Last I checked I didn't make fun of anyone's speech impediments.

Umm. i KNOW the thread wasn't directed at me... Wtf?!
It wasn't at ANYONE else either specifically, yet, other people are allowed to respond?!
And... people DOOooo many fun of me.. hell, I make fun of me. My own HUSBAND makes fun of me, when I am reading a story to sky, and get stuck.... etc
(And, i was ONLY talking, because we HAVE had this thread before, ages ago, and I was joking about my silly r's.)
Next time, I will make sure to only post if the topic has my name in the title... 'k, ma dear?

I cannot for the life of me say "raw oysters" which is irritating as all get-put cuz I love the darn things. Sounds like I am talking about an old friend...I call 'em Roy Oysters.
But I pronounce nuclear correctly (yay me!). New-clear, not nooky-lurr. Sorry Pres. Bush, you drive me outta my mind with that one!

See?
WHAT WORDS DO YOU HAVE TROUBLE SAYING
That is what I responded to.... makes sense to me. Correct me, everyone, if I am wrong.
Geez, sorry I came back to this site.

When I'm not paying attention I will say the word please and it will come out as "pweez".
Had a problem with the letter "L" all my life. When I pay attention I can pronounce it correctly. A director of a show I was in when I was 9 helped me fix that.

I think almost everyone says that... when someone actually says nuclear, I notice it! That's funny really.

Sorry, but that is a slight speech problem... you better not post here about it....
Lol, my daughter has an "L" problem too.. the poor kid's name is Skylah McLeod.... when people ask her name, she says "Sky-YAH Mc-Yeod".....
So, for the longest time, all the kids in school thought her name was Sky-yah.... I told her to introduce herself as "sky", so she stops having to correct people:)And, she doesn't call me mommy, she calls me Gilly.... Lol, try to figure THAT one out:) (just call me Gewwy:)
Yes, concentrating on the word helps, if you know it is coming up... but, who is concentrating THAT hard on the words coming out of their mouth! (Well, i don't, anyways:)
