What, if anything, did you do about it?

Actually, I'm not all that interested in young girls in the first place.  Once all the excitement is over there comes a time when you have to talk.  What would I talk to them about?  Whether the Olson twins are anorexic or not?  I don't think so!

With the exception of my 18 year old daughter (who seems to be going on 40), I cannot imagine having a substantive conversation with a 20 something woman.

I dated older women. There was only one women I dated that was younger than me. I was her break between more successful boyfriends.

I used to be much more mature for my age. I think I was born at the height of my maturity and regressed with age. Not at all uncommon in my family.

When I was 17, I couldn't imagine ever retiring. I was afraid it would bore me to tears.

Things are a little different now.

Chuck,

Could it be that like me you are suffering (I'm not sure suffering is the right word) from a case of arrested development.

In many ways I don't believe that I have matured beyond the age of 18.  In fact my 18 year old daughter generally seems to be much older than me.

But I don't know that it's hurt me much.  Except those times when I forget that my body has suffered much abuse during the 40 years since I was 18 and I do something really stupid.  When I get out of bed in the morning and my knees don't want to work and I can barely raise my right arm enough to put on my shirt, I wonder why in the world I thought it was such a good idea to "take one for the team" when I was in high school.

I still can't imagine retirement!  It sounds like such a bore.  Check me again on this topic once I've won $100 million or so in the lottery.  I might change my mind.

Larry

I doubt it, Larry. That is the perfect timne to step back, take a break and a long vacation, and then start a business to offset the windfall you just received.

If you do, let me know and I will help you run that business into the ground. I can be very expensive when I have to be.

You've got a deal.  As utterly as incompetent as I can be, I think it might take real talent to burn through $100 million in short order.

Just to get this back on topic, I don't know that gross incompetence is just a man thing.  But I can't see turning over my $100 million to a woman.  They'd just be frivolous with it.

SS, you're making my brain hurt.  I don't want to think of girls as evil.  I want to think of them as . . . well, never mind.  This is a family oriented site after all.

Larry, your only "illness" is being musically inclined and addicted to music itself.

Drugs are not a substitute for music, something some musicians don't get but you do. I have seen this all too much in my short 41 years here.

Sadly, you're right about that.  Those of us who only wish we had the talent constantly mourn the unbelieveable talent that has been squandered and lost becuse of drugs.

That's why I'm planning on squandering my talent on loose women.  Maybe even women that aren't so much loose as they are willing.  It seems like a much better deal than drugs.

Larry

I had a conversation about this with someone (I think it was Keith) on another thread.  I had noticed the same thing.

That's why my partner and I have formed our own charity; the "Looking Back Home for Wayward Girls".  Our home is dedicated to the identification and fostering of waywarndess.

It had been our observation that there don't seem to be nearly as many wayward girls as there used to be.  We think that's a shame so we set out to do something about it.

Please understand, unlike most charities, we're not looking for donations of money.  What we're looking for is wayward girls.  The situation has gotten so dire that we have made some changes to our operating plan and we are now accepting girls who are not sure whether they are wayward or not as well as girls who think they might like to become wayward.

We are non-sectarian, non-denominational, and we do not discriminate based on race, color or creed.  We do discriminate based on some other criteria such as terminal ugliness.

Please give and give generously.  Send your wayward girls to:

The Looking Back Home for Wayward Girls
Menomonee Falls, WI

You won't be sorry.

Larry

Being a person of diverse chromosomes, x and y; I generally give such monosyllabic responses as yes or no. It may seem like a half-hearted attempt at communication but it keeps me from throwing a wrench into the complexity of the brain that is formed in the half of the population that carries redundant chromosomes (women).

After some time of using only retorts of the single syllable persuasion in response to communique from the persuasive gender, I build up a stockpile of unused, superfluous words. These words must be dispatched to allow my simpler mind to return to proper function. This is my release, this thread, this forum, this day. As the words pass my keyboard into the wild abyss that we call the internet, I feel the pressure wane. I will then either return to the living-room to continue watching the DVR's generous supply of cartoons, or I may just faint.

I am beginning to feel weak. I will soon resume my normal schedule of simple compliance. My common-law wife will love me again and I will be free of the burden of the words in my head that repeat with the resonance and tone of Patrick Stewart in the role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard from "Star Trek: The Next Generation".

My mind will be left with the one remaining thought that all women know of men to be subjectively thinking, "Number One, engage." :dancin:

Please forgive me the preceding rant . I cannot defend, nor will I delete it. It must stand alone as an example to me of what I become without proper maintenance. I am embarrassed by my own verbosity and must be flogged.

Who will have the honors?

Whew, better now. I accidently spilled the Oxford English dictionary on my head. Too bad they can't spell some of the words we use in this country. Too bad also that the grammer and syntax did not spill over as well.

Oh crap, I still got some on my robe. :D

Chuck,

I'm glad you got that off your chest.  In that it was getting to the point where your chest was beginning to resemble Dolly Parton's you must feel a vast sense of relief.  I myself, was particularly concerned that you might actually fall into a faint with potentially tragic repercussions.  Had, for example, Texas GiGi found you unconscious, still wearing your Dolly Parton chest the resulting stress might have been too much for the poor girl to handle.

Congrats for having weathered the storm with minimal damage.

Thank God it was only the Oxford dictionary that fell on your head and not the Webster's they had in my high school.  That thing would have crushed your head like a grape.  You'd have had a lot more to wipe off your robe.

Sorry I won't be able to attend the flogging.  That's not my specialty.  I tend to be more conventional in my predilections prefering the relative simplicity of your good old American T&A to the more sordid goings on that have been rampant (hmmm, a poor choice of words?) in some of the European countries for the past several hundred years.

Larry
