I left comments on your first few subs over there. Not sure they ever showed up... THey hadn't as of the following day.
Just checked, this is nutty, I left you a rank, and comment over on Brandy (for instance) and nothing has showed. Just "treasure" person's comment :( I was signed in at the time...

It asked for my Email address, I clicked MANY confirmations... It appeared to accept my comments.. I need to find out what's wrong here
OK. now I posted.... Third attempt on mindgames, just went thru... I rated that one too.... Only problem is, there's no edit feature, and I spelled inappropriate incorrectly... So now I'm having a nervous breakdown !

sorry to keep posting Just wanted to say see you guys in a few Days Im off to New york for the weekend.....
I'll be at the Oar House in Patchogue On Long Island on Friday Night for a party if anyone is in the area
and for those that grew up on or want to know what it's like to grow up on the beautiful Island of Long heres a bit of cut and paste...Steve Ill PM you the whole thing...My mom sent it to me.
Cya's in a few days
You live in the shadow of the greatest city in the world, but you almost
never go there. When you're away from Long Island, you love it and when
you're there, you don't. You think if you're not from Long Island or
NYC, you're not really from New York. You know the exact point at which
Queens turns into Nassau simply on intuition. You don't go to Manhattan,
you go to "The City". You never realize you have an accent till you
leave. Every thing north of the Bronx is "upstate." New Jersey sucks.
At some point in your life you've gone clamming. Either your parents or
your grandparents lived in the city. You'd pay $11.50 for a movie. You
don't live in Long Island. You live ON Long Island. You know where the
Commack Motor Inn is. Your distant future might involve the state
ofFlorida. You can correctly pronounce places like Ronkonkonma,
Happauge, Wantagh, Mineola, Islandia, Massapequa. You know the location
of 6 malls and a dozen McDonalds and 36 7-11's. You never, ever want to
"change at Jamaica..." You've tried to find the Amityville Horror house.
No, you don't want mustard on that burger!! You can't understand why a
diner would ever close. You've had a seagull crap on your car. You have
or someone you know has fallen asleep on the LIRR and ended up in one of
these three places; Babylon, Port Washington or Hicksville. You went to
an elementary school that promoted dodge ball as the number 1 game among
children 7-13. You know White Castle is terrible for you and the food
sucks but you periodically "Get the Crave".

Steven, is the tone quality as good as if you had plugged in straight to the amp?

Would you believe it if I told you I never even thought about that Honestly, never did.... I don't have an answer Don, I honestly don't know... My guess would be it's not likely as when I run a Monster cable or Horizon cable direct... Yet I don't know
Don, that'd be interesting to record on an oscilloscope.

I was just curious how it compares by ear. Your higher frequencies is what would be lost if anything.

Never gave it thought Don... I know given my usual nature that's unusual, but I'm never as close to the receiver as I am with a cable anyway, so I assumed the sound would be mellower...

The meter actually woks.
I'm not a big fan of this style of music, but every so often certain pieces will stand out in my mind.

Well I see no one's answered my questions, and that's cool, not a problem. I just wanted to know the ground rules before hand, and I couldn't find any type of disclaimer here on the site. I guess my initial reason for asking so many blunt questions was the fact of certain comments that were made during recent threads. So here's how I saw it.
Folks had very strong opinions about the approval or disapproval of people copying the disc for any kind of use. Point is, when you put it on the computer to do your vocals, it's got to get copied somewhere. On one hand, we had people that didn't want folks bringing their own disc to the shows, didn't approve of people doing backups of their disc, even to the point of wanting to argue about whether it was legal to even place backups on their computer for show use. So since some folks were actually to the point of being rude and arrogant about it, I was really lost as to how come no one said anything about the Singers Showcase. Personally, I think the Showcase is a great idea, and shouldn't be taken so serious to the point that folks get upset about review comments. What I found to be most humorous, were the reviewers themselves that took it so seriously, especially when it come to being critical about someones song.
I'm of the mind, if you're that big of a critic and rockstar, then what are you doing here. Just let folks have some fun why don'tcha.
Like I said in my previous post, the rules at certain music sites were extremely strict about what could and couldn't be posted. I've had my material at one time on over a hundred different internet stations, and on actual radio in Germany and Japan. You have to be able to account for and prove that it is in fact your composition. So when I saw that everyone here was in fact posting their vocal versions of other peoples songs, yeah I have to admit it took me back for a moment. So please don't get agitated when I ask my questions so bluntly. I come from a background of live music, clubs, managers, vendors, all with their opinion of success, and their hand out to cash in on it. So being blunt just comes with the territory and no offense was intended.
If I offended, then I do sincerely apologize. If I called you on some of the BS that I see going on around here, well all I can tell ya, is that you'll get over it.
James

"My hidden agenda is that I wanted more peeps to look at my songs...heh heh "
Well, if that's the case, may I suggest that you respond to those that leave a comment. My feeling is that if people take the time to listen and comment on a singers sub, then common courtesy dictates a reply. To ignore them is simply rude.
A simple "Thanks for stopping by" is better than no response at all. Just my 2 cents.....Lee.

Ouch Bones!
I'll go back and respond to some (more) of the comments. I guess I didn't know that was ettiquette here. I haven't seen it too much of it in the comments I have looked at but I have been answering most questions when I see them.

Out of curiosity do you go back and look at comments you have left then (I assume you do / or should I say obviously) I didn't think most peeps would go back once a comment is left and maybe that's part of why i haven't thanked everyone for leaving comments.

Actually, that is pretty true "bones51"... I KNOW that in the past some people have complained to me about people not responding to the comments they leave. I figure, the fact that there is a SECTION to read replies to the comments you leave, is a pretty big hint to leave one in the first place:)... Plus, i suppose it gives people a chance to "get to know you", which in turn brings them back to listen on your next song.
Plus, it looks rude to pick and choose which comments to respond to, I guess.
But, I don't know ANYTHING about any people in question. I stay out of SS altogether nowadays.
I guess, if you have time to post your sub, you should have time to respond... but, I know it can get tedious repeating yourself. Just remember, people DO go back, and check to see if people replied, and enjoy that.
Whatever, just an idea.
