In the Seattle area - Yes.
My wife and I will be relocating to Texas next year. I plan on keep some level of operations in the Seattle area while building up new operations in our new location. I have been in talks with a fellow Texas based KJ about buying him out, re-branding, and establishing a foothold. We may work multiple large metro areas in Texas. I have not worked out that plan yet.

I hope you are saving up for the extra van you'll need to transport your warehouse of discs. i imagine that shipping even by freight would be a little prohibitive..

flees wrote: I bid it way up, you can thank me later Chris. Same thing on the one with the Beatles disks. Wow... Shill bidding, anyone? (Shill bidding happens when anyone, including family, friends, roommates, employees, or online connections, bids on an item with the intent to artificially increase its price or desirability.)

I seriously doubt he was a 'shill' bidder, he wanted the aution, he had a max bid he was willing to pay & when it went over that he dropped out. He stated that he wanted the one with the 8230 disc and it went over his max bid, sure it was the same with the lot that had the Beatles disc in it. I do it all the time myself, if it goes over the max bid i'm willing to pay I drop out of the bidding whether I know the person holding the auction or not.

He admitted he 'bid the auctions way up'!
Regardless, it was a d!ck move to even admit something like that, whether he wanted the auctions or not.

Yeah i'm sure he did. He upped it to his max bid that he'd pay - if he upped it and won the auction, there would be no issue now would there. Thus driving the bid up! Just because he didn't want to pay anymore doesn't mean it was a shill bid.

Perhaps I misunderstood his comment, then. But it sure looked like it was an intentional move to up the bid.

Again I seriously doubt it. I saw it as he was making a comment to Chris because his bid got out bid. No dick move. That's auctions. He was just letting Chris know. There was no malitious intent. If it was driven up ALL the auctions Chris had up, then yeah I could see it as 'shill' bidding. He was bidding on 2 auction that he wanted. Nothing more.

He bid on way more than 2. He upped bids on at least 6 of the auctions I was on, and he won others, 1 that I was bidding on and a couple more that I wasn't. The comment just hit me the wrong way. Sometimes looks are deceiving, but I watched each of those auctions go to $200 right at the end, all by the same person.

I do the same kind of bidding. I sometimes make the first bid in case there is matching bids. Other times, i simply wait to the last 3-4 secs and make a single bid for the max amount I am willing to pay. People have been bidding like this since the beginning of eBay.
