Mr. Harrington, why have you been keeping this a secret? I have recently discovered that in addition to karaoke, SC is marketing many products under the "Sound Choice Certified" brand. Everything from soda to shaving cream. Here's a few of the items I've found.

Did you see the disclaimer on the back of the SoundChoice cola?
"This soda bottle is intended for the drinking of the original cola contents only. Any other use of this soda bottle, including refilling with water, is strictly prohibited without proper certification from SoundChoice."

We've been to thousands of shows over the last six years, all over the country, with playlists carefully logged. Even today, our stuff gets played in nearly 100% of shows, and more than 70% of all tracks played. If omitting SC works for your operation, good for you. You don't need our product. But the wide majority of professional KJs disagree with you... or, at least, whether they need it or not, they want it, have it, and use it.

Now THAT'S what I call "Wooing customers to win them over to your product." Keep on telling them that they "don't need our product" and eventually everyone will agree with you and believe you. You never seem to run out of ammunition.... is it hard to walk with all those holes in your feet?

I would have to agree that SC is the most widely recognized and requested brand of any of the major players. Of the top three brands; SC, DK, Chartbuster, many customers would choose to sing the SC version of a song. I will say that when it comes to "country", Chartbuster has it nailed. And DK does an incredible job as with pop/rock. While no one brand is perfect, overall SC is probably the most diversified brand and one whose tracks come surprisingly close to the original artists recordings.
With that said, can you run a successful show without SC? Yes and no. Your choice of music is only one part of the whole package. Your sound system and hosting skills are also part of it. What I try to do is make all of my singers feel like a star. And to do that, you need great music and great sound. Your personality helps too.
If the sound is rockin' at the bar down the street, and they have the versions that they want to sing... guess what? They're going down the street, no matter how much of a nice guy you are. People want to sound good and sing along to great music.
Think about it...
You have a mediocre sound system with a song library consisting of SGB and MM, while the guy down the street has a killer sound system with a song library consisting of SC and Chartbuster. Guess where they're going? Do you think your good looks are enough to keep them at your place? Think again.
Anyway, I use and will continue to use the SC tracks that I have. And believe me, people DO request them.

I'm willing to bet, if Mr. Harrington said the opposite, " you DO need our product", you would still be all over him. Then it would be something like... See, now you're telling people they need your product to be successful. So, it seems that Mr. Harrington's response is immaterial. You're still going to be all over him no matter what he says. This is getting pathetic.
