The listing even has a bogus letter saying the discs aren't copies

May be legit. If you look at some of the top disks you can see the original disk graphics underneath the paste on Big Daddy label. Maybe he did the labels for easy cataloging and as a theft deterrent.

Maybe, but I highly doubt it. If I’m the seller I sure wouldn’t put a copied cdr on top & mark it sc8120 & sc8524 with a red marker. I’ll put the originals on top & also take pictures of original discs spread out for interested buyers to see. Sorry dsm but the only originals are the eurolite & cd jewel cases.

Skeptical myself, though I did do a bulk buy very early on where the host put their own labels over the top and then hand wrote numbers for their cataloging system. Seemed goofy to me, but I have never run from disc.

It does look like they put their own label over legit discs. I was doing that for a few years as well, it was just a uniform thing at the time (until labels started peeling off & getting into the players). You can see the original disc graphic under several of the labels. Looks like it might be legit.

My question is... can those labels be easily removed?

Soak them in warm water in the bathtub......

yeah but if you look just outside the hub, there is no manufacture number or holographic imprint on some of them. so I would be very weary of the disc myself.

I would pass and not even touch them, he should have shown pictures on the bottom side of the disc's and then you could tell if it was a silver original or green/silver recorded disc.

I still am betting they are legit. He even tore off a couple labels on a couple SC discs and they are real. He wouldn't be putting up that pic about being a legit set of discs, that would come right back to bite him in the butt if someone bought them under the pretense they were real & then turned out not to be.
I wouldn't be hesitant on the sale at all except the price is a little high IMO.

I agree, I think that they are legit too.
