People (K.J.s) in our area have been wondering if the Cloud rental has been taking off.
Most people say no.
Are the 12000 song hardrives they sold us still legal?
I know I wont be buying anything from whoever they are untill they at least show a slight effort to protect their product. And certainly not untill their ex salesmen run out of product on E-bay for pennies on the dollar.

the 12000 song hardrive was sold directly from chartbusters right before they went out of business for 2 grand. Are you saying they are stolen music?

Are you referring to the KJ Media Pro HD? I was lucky enough to buy one of those bad boys and 100 credits just in time for CB to stop support. It's a great paperweight. :(

that depends on whom you ask. But as far as being a kj is concerned, if you were lucky enough to purchase one of these drives before chartbuster went belly up, then I would continue to use it.

If you paid for it, you should be able to use it, and until a legal authority says otherwise, most likely no one will come after you for it.

just my two cents, for what its worth

I love how the last ad in Seattle states in his ad that he is illegally selling copyrighted material.

It's kinda like an ad for a Corvette:

Minor Legality Note: This car is stolen. It will be up to the buyer to properly title the vehicle in their name after the sale. :withstupid:

The difference is these are 'obviously' illegal to begin with. Anyone with half a brain should be able to figure that one out.
The CB hard drives were sold to customers in good faith through real karaoke outlets (& CB themselves) under the assumption that everything was fine.

No it does not, because I was talking specifically about the chartbuster drives, which were sold DIRECTLY by the karaoke manufacturer. Third party/private sales are a whole different matter. In that case, I would expect to have original factory discs provided along with the hard drive, or I would not buy it in the first place
