I will be able to watch the first half, but unfortuantely I have to work on the 20th

I posted the KaraokeSummit page asking if it would be recorded. Of course, last year they said they would post the full recordings which they never followed through on.

I too will miss several hours of it as I am going to meet with a club about starting up another show.

They surely edited it last year. Of course they didn't invite anyone this year who isn't in bed with them so they may actually release the full thing. Of course, people need to realize that this isn't a legitimate summit anymore due to the fact that it's only for people who are on the same page as digitrax and believe in their music renting business model.

If you would take a step back and look, not everyone here is integrated with Digitrax. Sound choice, all star, daywind, stingray, plus publishers and software manus. We have reached out to everyone in the industry and we have 40 industry leaders here.

Everyone? Where's Bob Latshaw? He gave the best speech last year, and according to their facebook page, he wasn't invited back. His explanation was that the moment Latshaw Systems created iCroons (which obviously was a kick in the face to your music "renting" business model), he hasn't heard from you since. So, what you meant to say was "We have reached out to everyone in the industry who isn't doing better than us".

I'm also sitting here just watching that lawyer you just had speaking, who basically made a couple very wrong claims and implications. He basically said to KJs, if you're worried you're not legal, you should come to the karaoke cloud. You guys imply that you're the only legal option, and frankly just opened yourself up to a lawsuit, so I highly recommend editing that out of the video before you release it. This isn't a summit. It's an infomercial, and you're extremely delusional if you don't see that. It's smoke and mirrors and you will fool a lot of people. Just know you're not fooling everyone.

Also, you're ignoring professional KJs way too much too. You don't invite the owner of the fastest growing tech company in the industry, yet you invite the guy from JoltSoft again, who not only was extremely boring (just read the messages while he was speaking), believes karaoke sounds good coming from your phone, and then even claimed Sony created the CDG format. Phillips invented the CDG format. How can you invite people who clearly don't know what they're talking about, and ignore the people who are really moving this industry? There's only one logical answer, and you're just in denial. Enjoy the Kool-Aid.

By the way, the one good speech you did have this year was Kurt Slep's. Please invite him back next year. The rest was crap, and you need to really rethink what you want to do for next year, because this thing is losing credibility every year.

All I can say is sorry you feel that way. We have included KJs, even had one speak.

As far as pushing the cloud, the lawyers were simply giving options, the cloud and sound choice. We cannot speak on behalf of other companies being legal.

All of the comments and messages we have received have been very upbeat.

I guess you just didn't need any of the information produced. I also know that you cannot please everyone.

A sincere thanks for today. Although I saw most of it I had to dash out to work and missed the final hour, but I've finally caught up.

I thought it was really useful, even though not every thing applied to me as a host (especially since I'm UK based) I certainly learned a lot and it's given me some ideas to improve my show and where the market is heading.

I do have to concur with the voices that are saying that the summit made being legal sound like hard work, and it would have been handy if some of the facts were clearer and if some of speakers had a greater understanding of little details. However, the overall attitude from the people who spoke and the message of working together to create something bigger and better overshadowed all the negative points.

The immediate question's that popped into my mind are. . .
Why is it called the 'no-fly' list? Where does the term come from
Where are Zoom in all of this?
What happened to Bob Latshaw?
Is the Vegas meeting going to be streamed as well for those of us who can't travel?

As long as you are running legally you will not have to worry about Certification. PR is strictly going after pirates.

The No Fly List was given by Publishers. These are the artists that do not want their songs being made into karaoke. We will be posting this list as a reference guide to anyone who is interested.

As far as Zoom and Latshaw I am not sure. Believe it or not, I am not included on all decisions made through the company.

I will let everyone know about the Vegas meeting closer to date. I will not be attending this one as I am also unable to travel.

Does this apply to DigiTrax customers as well? Will DigiTrax be offering a Certification program of any kind?

You should be . There was a lot of love for you Gretchen on the messageboard, as we watched the live stream. I suspect because you make us hosts feel like part of the solution and you listen to our logical, well thought out and sometimes needy and/or ridiculous points.

It's voices and attitudes like yours that make people want to support the industry. I demand you have a pay rise.

I was more curious about the entomology of the term 'no fly'. It's not a phrase we use in the uk.

Your receipt of purchase will be your Certification. All of your purchases are stored as soon as you make them. However, if you are running multiple systems than you need to have multiple purchases of the specific song.
