We are putting all of the legalities in order as we speak. There will be a new Certification system. Keep an eye out this month.

Gretchen thanks for responding--a new certification will be good for some of us (only 4 in our state) but my main concern is for you people protecting your song rights. While I dont need or agree with your cloud service--surely you must realize that no new program will work without active enforcement--when will we see some?

I am very interested in how the certification program will work. I certified under ChartBuster when I purchased two of the CB12000+ Drives. I have yet to purchase anything other than some gift cards from DT don't know that I ever will purchase music from DT. If that is the case, will they simply be certifying my CB library? or will I be required to purchase songs from DT and have those certified?

I assume that they will have to run all of us that were on the chartbuster cert. page--luckily I ran many copies of that page before it disapeared. Also I bought hundreds more disks from the DT salesman on E-Bay when they were less than 1.25 each(many of those songs are not on the 12000 song hardrive)so we have more chartbuster than KCP for sure.I assume that all of us will have to be certified (grandfathered in)

I will keep you posted when I know more. They will be contacting people regarding the Certifications starting this month.

I also wanted to let you guys know that we are creating new packages for those of you who did not like the idea of the KCP service. We should be releasing these a little later in the week if not the beginning of next.

Please just know that all of your suggestions are not going in one ear and out the other! We truely are working very hard to accomodate ALL of the KJs needs!

I have two of the CB 12000+ Drivers, plus I have acquired probably 1500+ CB discs through eBay and Craigslist. Happy to certify all of that as well depending on the requirements of the program.

Looking forward to hearing more.

Selectatrack had the Digitrax/Chartbuster library up on their site for about a week and then pulled it all off. Saying something to the effect DT had some issues with some songs showing CB logos still and needed to rework those tracks. They went on to say that they hope this is a short fix and hope to have the library back up soon.
I was lucky enough to get a few tracks I needed - ones that I was building from CB custom before they tanked and couldn't finish.

Will DT allow the library to be put back up at SAT?

Gretchen, I STILL have my one and only CB disc (Dave Matthews) on my hard drive, along with all my SGB discs. Am I still OK?? Yes I have my discs. You and I has an e-mail volley a while back, when CB was still around, and you told me I was fine, as long as I had my discs. Thanks, in advance for your reply.

{{{deep breath}}} Smooth, neither Digitrax, Chartbuster, or PR have ANYTHING to do with SGB. The do not own the logo or the library, nor does any other mfr.- and never did.

THey certainly used some SGB material and called it their own. CB's Lynyrd Skynyrd disc is a carbon copy of SGB's Skynyrd disc.

SOMEBODY had to have owned it at one point, or it would never have been created.

I think that it is really great that Gretchen from(KCP) is at least trying to answer our concerns--wish the other manus would do the same.
As for SGB who really cares.
Also I wish someone from Sound Choice would at least try to be open with us--maybe follow Gretchens example.

I'd like to know what kind of certifications you might put in place regarding ODB KJs like myself. The way SC operated, they sent notifications out to many Venues, and stressed (in a very biased way), that if the KJ wasn't using their product, that they were more than likely operating illegally. In their notifications, they focused MAINLY on KJs who were PC-Based. They barely gave any mention about KJs like myself (who still operate by only using discs). Then they added that you (the Venues) could check on their website to see a list of all legally operated KJs who became Certified by them (SC) in each State. Well... that list doesn't include people like me (who are ODB), because an Audit was not required (and they still have not set anything in place to give me an equal footing along with those who are now getting free advertising (by being listed in their website as a Certified Legally Operating KJ).

Also, as a footnote, I would NOT be willing to pay for any such Audit you might set in place. I do less than 12 shows in an entire year, and I only own 13 CB discs.

Yes, yes it is! There are a few others too I cannot remember off hand.

Thank you for all of the kind words guys!

Cue- when we do start the certification process we will have to charge a fee. That is yet to be determined. We have to pay for the people doing the audits as well as our tech team's time to put all hosts on a site.

Will the DT/CB library be available through Select A Track again?

Have you figured out an easy way to purchase multiple copies of digital songs yet. I have purchased an update pack for my main system but would like to start getting both my rigs back to the same songs / versions. Right not I am handling the problem by purchasing tricerasoft versions for the second rig but I would rather pay 2x download 1x and put on both rigs.

I have not heard at this time. I know they are working on trying to resolve this now. I will post it here when they give me the green light.
