Got an email from Karaoke Scene - only $3,000 cash for 6,000 songs.
Now that's a deal! If I only had $3,000....

It might not be that they are cash strapped. They are still selling CD+G's. I think that they are just matching Chartbuster's deals - for instance, the MediaPro, Streaming service. Also, they have Ebay dealers selling all 10 Essentials on SD Cards (4,500 songs) for only $1,650. If I were SC, I would find myself forced to sweeten my deal/s.

Sure would like to see SC jump on board with the MediaPro HD.

that would be a good business decision on their part Hiteck. could you imagine the opportunity for US if SC, CB, Stellar, Zoom, Sunfly, were all available on the KJMP setup? SC's hurting for money was my first reaction too.

Ok, I have no shows, so I guess I can't buy them..... ...but the way the email portrays it, it seems like I'm admitting to being a pirate, if I buy them.... ararararah

On a tangent... What's with all these posts that have words hyperlinking to other pop-ups when you cursor over them? It came up in LoneRanger's, Troy's, and Paradigm's posts here.

Just based on my own statistics.. (almost a year of data gathered now) we've only used 75 of the 2000 songs from the diamond set. Sort of feel a bit burned too, considering we payed the same amount for 3000 songs.
My crowd has changed a lot too. Now that we can get new songs as they come out, we seem to be attracting more college folks.

In my opinion, it's simply a sign that the Gem Series is becoming outdated even faster than anticipated and price reductions will be necessary just to keep it anywhere in sight.

I've said it before.... SC's library is becoming more and more outdated with every day. It's been so long since they've regularly put out any music. I own 2 complete Foundations & Bricks. Out of 1,500 SC songs, I bet I have 15 get used regularly (more than 1x a month), 30 that get used 1x a month, and maybe 50 more that get used (on average) 6-8x per year. The rest are used 0-2 times per year.
But, the Foundation is definitely outdated, and so are the Bricks. (the newest song I have from SC on the Foundations is 2004 maybe??)
I fill in those gaps with THM until 2007 and all CB from 2008 on.
I will guess that 70% is THM/CB (I also own the Essentials 1-6). 20% is SC and 10% is DK/SGB/other.
You can give me the whole third degree about THM and their legal problems, but they did put out pretty good music! And today's CB is (IMO) the best new stuff out there.

I'll try to log the songs done tonight just out of curiosity sake to see how many were SC and other brands.

This just further reinforces to me the lack of a need, to have SC in the show at all. In a way I feel a certain relief that I don't have to constantly update the library, I merely buy something if I start getting requests. Then again I don't play to the same crowd most of the professional hosts play to.

My question is: Did you have the SC songs that were sung as another version but you either gave them the SC version because that's what you prefer or the singer requested it specifically? Many of those songs are available from other sources but the reason they sang SC is because it's the version you had.
