Maybe APS was trying to avoid the expense of a trial, when nothing will come of it for either party. It is SC that has pressed the lawsuit against their former employees. Now it has come to the point where the charges have to be answered, they have been with a counter suit it would appear. This means that APS is not going to roll over and play dead, if SC comes up on the short end of this legal battle, it will just be one more nail in their corporate coffin.

Obviously Insane has never actually had to deal with the costs and energy it takes to sue or to be sued. Being a cheerleader elf is easier.

RaokeBoy wrote: Brophy's counterclaim is against Slep-tone, Kurt Slep and James Harrington for breach of contract and fraud to the tune of about $300,000 plus punitive damages. I can see why Insane would not want to share it. In part, Brophy alleges:
26. After entering into the Agreement, Slep-Tone, Slep and Harrington repeatedly 26 interfered with the performance of the Agreement by APS and breached the 27 terms of the Agreement. Examples of the interference/breaches include, but 28 are not limited to: (1) refusing to provide information to the attorneys hired to 1 prosecute cases by APS on Slep-Tone's behalf which they needed in order to 2 respond to discovery, or only agreeing to provide information after extended 3 delays; (2) Slep and Harrington (as general counsel for Slep-Tone) insisted that 4 the attorneys prosecuting the cases assert objections to all discovery and 5 refuse to provide information;
And on it goes . . . I wonder if Brophy knows about the underlying facts that supported the motion for fees in the L.A. case. There, Slep-tone refused to respond to discovery other than boiler plate objections. Cataloging a variety of Slep-tone and Harrington activity, see especially pages 2-6 of Taka-O's motion for fees cited by Judge Wright in his order granting them that Slep-tone had engaged in bad faith tactics. http://tinyurl.com/kpxmcutOh, and here is an example of typical discovery responses in the case. Among other goodies, see pages 38-39 - Slep-tone's response to Special Interrogatory No. 5 provided to another defendant in the case basically telling defendants to go pound sand and hiding facts behind an investigator. http://tinyurl.com/lfc426eAmazing what one can find by searching Scribd documents for "Slep-tone."

So is RoakeBoy an attorney or pretending to be one. If he is one then he should reveal him or herself as one as James has with all pertinent info (firm name and address, website, etc).

Funny how one with well over 4,000 posts to this very forum in three years would suggest that. Unlike you, I participate in discussions about a wide variety of topics related to karaoke. I contribute to these forums, my local karaoke community, and I am engaged with a wide variety of players in the karaoke industry. As a successful karaoke business owner that keeps my finger on the pulse of the industry, I feel I should be a part of the community instead of performing drive-bys with the intention of stirring the pot. What is your connection to karaoke again?

Oh yes, congratulations Chris. Your 4,175 posts here have been greatly productive and clearly the best use of your time.

Once again, I am clearly engaged with the karaoke community beyond having a bone to pick with a karaoke company, its owner, and the attorney representing them both. I don't swoop in, post something, shake the tree to agitate the natives, then disappear (or lurk). So...... 4000+ posts on a forum with real people having conversations regarding an industry that feeds my family vs ???? hours searching for and reading about karaoke lawsuits you aren't a party to (did I get that correct?) on a site that also contains some of the greatest works of literature created by man...... I like my path better..... btw....Lonnie has 18000+ posts. Super anti-productive......hmph!

Chris - As you have demonstrated, your crack about having the time was neither germane nor appropriate. Just see it for what it was.

He provides court documentation to back up his statements. You do a drive-by and provide nothing as substantiation. (Sp?)

Um, bad idea Insane. I have never seen you post on the tech forums, or general discussion about the karaoke hosting business, or anywhere but these debates. What is YOUR connection to my Karaoke Hosting industry?? According to Chris Avis (not me) , you shouldn't be posting on this subject......

I am not saying anyone should be precluded from posting on any subject. I just question why some do. Most of us contribute broadly to many different topics of discussions. Others are basically parrots stuck on repeat.

Post #4184 I have commented in different areas besides the pirate section here. Oh by the way Chris, Insane and Jim aren't parrots stuck on repeat? You just like the song their chirping better.
