I don't think the copy write problem will ever be solved. I saw (while stationed in Japan) a copy of Star Wars on VHS tape in May 1977 just days after it was released. The problem has been going on for a long time and will continue to go on until someone somewhere can figure out how to stop people from: 1) Sneaking video camera's into theaters. 2) Figure out a way to stop people from letting their friends copy their music who intern let other friends copy it. 3) Stop overseas Pirates (like Pirate Bay) from setting up shop.
SOPA will not stop any of it. It will just allow our government to take over the internet within our boarders and will most likely result in shutting off the rest of the world.

I know of a place that has a woman come by every week with the latest DVDs in a box, back of her van.. Any title, 5 for $10.00 USD.. How can the studios make any money that way.. Well, for the last 50 years, they have been cheating the actors out of their share of profits.. As well as the Writers, Directors, Share Holders, and anyone else in the contract.. This of course does not make piracy OK.. If fact, I never buy from her anymore..

I find i hard to feel for the Actors, Writers, Directors, Share Holders, and anyone else in the contract when movies like Breaking Dawn gross $140 Billion. I don't approve of the piracy but these people are not in the common persons corner!

If you don't like what an entertainer, athlete or whoever makes, then don't buy or steal their product. Not liking their pay IS NOT a reason to steal from them.

Yes I was wrong on the amount as I was thinking of the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1's outstanding $138.1 million opening figure so I stand corrected. Yet it was your "Anyone that follows the Twilight series is not all there.. IMHO" twist jdmeister that implied I followed it. Which appears to be a cut aimed at me implying you have an honest opinion. I simply used the dollar reference as the largest grossing most recent movie. It would seem your opinion is small and not shared by a large number of the population of the civilized world as the dollar figures you provided show!
timberlea implying anything was said about the "Not liking their pay IS NOT a reason to steal from them" is just an outright LIE! I expressly said "I don't approve of the piracy"! But when someone steals from one of us we have only insurance to pay us back unlike the movie industry who just increases the ticket prices.

TOP TEN PIRATED MOVIES
Avatar (1080p bluray rip) The top pirated film of all time, according to a study released by TorrentFreak in October 2011, is James Cameron's 3D epic, Avatar. The film has been downloaded some 21 million times since its release in 2009. Cameron once touted 3D filmmaking as the entertainment industry's best hope for fighting piracy, but unfortunately, that doesn't seem to have helped his film escape its pirated fate. The film has raked in nearly $2.8 billion in wordwide theatrical gross nonetheless.
The Dark Knight (1920x800 bluray rip) The 2008 superhero film starring Christian Bale took second place in the most downloaded films of all time, with around 19 million downloads. The second installment in Christopher Nolan's Batman series was a major hit at the box office, and set the stage for the upcoming third film in the series, The Dark Knight Rises, due in theaters in July 2012, and sure to also be a very hot product in the pirated film circuit.
Transformers Transformers was also illegally downloaded around 19 million times, according to the study. Michael Bay's first film based on the toy line starred Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky, a teenager involved in a war between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. Megan Fox also starred in the movie, and her presence most likely bolstered the high illegal download count.
Inception (720p) Another Christopher Nolan film on the list, Inception raked in about 18 million illegal downloads since its release. The sci-fi action film had a strong cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page and a mind-blowing storyline, making it one of the most-talked about (and highest grossing) films of the year.
The Hangover (1280p HD) The Hangover, 2009's major comedy hit starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis not only led to a sequel but also to a ton of illegal downloading of the film. According to the study, Todd Phillips' film that featured tigers, Mike Tyson and a whole lot of gross-out moments, was illegally downloaded 17 million times.
Star Trek (620p) The J.J. Abrams reboot was downloaded some 16 million times since its release in 2009. A sequel is currently in the works, and Paramount announced that it has plotted a course for the film to hit theaters on May 17, 2013.
Kick-Ass (720p) Matthew Vaughn's 2010 film based on a comic book of the same name was illegally downloaded 15 million times according to the study.
The Departed (720p) One of the older films on the top 10 list, 2006's The Departed rolls in with 14 million downloads. The Martin Scorsese-helmed movie has a star-heavy cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg and Martin Sheen.
The Incredible Hulk (668p aXXo dvdrip) Edward Norton has been replaced as The Hulk in the upcoming superhero ensemble film, The Avengers, but plenty of people were watching Norton's take on Dr. Bruce Banner by illegally downloading The Incredible Hulk. The 2008 film has been downloaded around 14 million times since its release.
Pirates of the Caribbean : At World's End (HD) A pirated pirates movie! Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End, the third film in the Johnny Depp-starring series, was downloaded about 14 million times since its release in 2007.
Good Grief - Sound Choice thinks they have problems.......

vampires don't sparkle, or go out in the daylight no matter how overcast, just sayin. back to the real subject...... yes, they get paid large amounts of money, but they should get paid what they earn for what they do. if that particular job pays $1.00 for every copy sold, they should get $1.00 for every copy sold and 50 million copies stolen is $50,000,000 that they are not getting paid that they should. making that kind of money should not make them the exception and justify stealing from them.

Personally I prefer the Underworld series but the sparkley vampires seem to sell more tickets. So does that mean you support the SOPA/PIPA bills that are now tabled in Congress?

stopping piracy is important to keep the industry going, but whoever wrote the sopa crap knows nothing about anything.

Monies paid to legislators funded the decision to create it. Public outrage may have killed it. (Are you awaiting the other shoe to drop?)

if you look at it, according to sopa, this forum could get shut down based on singers showcase alone. Monsters deal alone of taking down craigs list, ebay, pricegrabber, fatwallet, costco, sears, backpage as "rogue" sites for allowing or promoting the sale of used cables affecting their new cable sales shows that it is waaaaaaay too far. it is so open and vague that for instance the SS, if it is not uploaded to a quality acceptable to the manu that recorded the track, that would hurt sales and therefore this site should be shut down. plus..........like youtube............legally we can not even be posting the recordings of these manus tracks anyway. shut us down. shove it up the pirates a$$, but this will do the opposite. the theves are getting their stuff from more underground and private invite sources that may or may not be touchable if even found. but sites like this, posting content could get us shut down, for what?
