You may have noticed a bit of a change! Yes we are making a few changes. This took us a while to transfer and upgrade - sorry the site was down most of the day! There are more changes still coming. There may be some possible errors. We are still working out some of the kinks. If you discover an error please post a new topic in the Comments section: http://www.karaokescene.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=13We are attempting to improve the site, your experience, and reduce the potential hacker attacks as well. Thanks

I'm figuring it out...... wow, wierd to have this place changed up so much after almost...... 6 years? 7 years? I can't see avatars, nobody's pic is there. Is that due to the website changing, or is it just not going to show them to IE users? (and i wont ask any more questions, promise)

Yeah takes a little getting used to. I found my inbox through the user control panel link toward the top middle.

Like Lonman said, takes a little bit of getting used to, but it does look good. My compliments!

Only a day? I have it on my favourites and it kept coming up 404 Error. Then I just googled it and here I am.
One suggestion, next time a mailout letting us know it's back up.

The forums were down for just part of the day?!
It maybe that you had a cached copy and didn't get here?
Strange but it has been working for many.
I am working on many other sections of the site. They may be down The forums are up and running and have been since Thursday.
I have problems sending out mass mailings because there are over 12,000 members - Many do not have valid email accounts which cause problems!
I don't know how many times I have requested members to make certain that they have a vaild email - it doesn't seem to work!
After I finish with the updates - many accounts will be deleted.

In the previous forum I had it set to open all links in a new window. I have yet to figure out how to make this one do that. Help please? (posted links)

One suggestion, next time a mailout letting us know it's back up. The problem was that the rewrite that was used was extremely limited, essentially assuming that everyone entered at http://www.karaoke-forum.com/. I got a "down" message for several days because my entry point was the search for new posts.

My entry point was also "new postings", but I can't do that anymore because I can't get it to remember to log me in automatically on my next visit. The other forums I visit remember me. Am I missing a setting here besides the check mark on the log-in screen?
Also, is there a setting that will open posted links in a new window on click without right clicking and chossing the same? I keep losing my place in the threads when I click on a link.

I'll look into the link opening new windows - Of course, you could always hold the CTRL key and click a link...
Check your User Control Panel for other settings. You should be able to use the remember option at login.
You may want to Check your computer for cookies allowed...

PHiLL wrote: All pages from the previous http://karaoke-forum.com/ website should automatically transfer? Please let me know if this doesn't occur... This is the one I am talking about: http://karaoke-forum.com/search.php?search_id=newpostsIf all the URLs are the same, then you should be able to do in Apache (assuming the server is on Apache): RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} karaoke-forum.com RewriteRule /(.*)$ http://www.karaokescene.com/forums/$1 [L,R=permanent] Which it looks like you have done, since the one that was failing for me now works.
