Disappearing Posts/Topics!

First, it probably wasn't deleted! It may have been moved to a "Private" moderator forum so that it can be reviewed. After it has been read and the appropriate action taken, it may be returned to the forums if deemed necessary.

NOTE: Any negativity that is posted whether it is directed toward this site, any other or at a person/member will be edited or completly deleted. We want this to be a fun atomosphere for everyone to enjoy.

This action will happen occassionally by the moderators of the site. We are attempting to assist everyone with their requests and this is now part of a new procedure that we have instituted.

If you have a complaint regarding something on the site, please complete the form on the Contact Us page. If anyone has a request for me please PM me. I get notified of new messages and respond faster to those. (I don't have time to read all the forums!)

Thank you,

PHiLL

I'm a little puzzled. I posted a topic concerning starts and stops on playback of subs. When I got an email today to check a new comment on the thread, I found the thread had vanished.

Since we have been checking our computers to make sure it is not some bizarre thing since we have installed Media Player 10, perhaps you could email me or PM me what happened.

I just had one removed and there was nothing offensive about it.  I think I know why it was removed as it was time sensitive but I didn't get to see if it was viewed, much less posted in and I received no notification.  There are plenty of time sensitive posts still in the forum regarding contests, etc. that do not get removed so I was just a little curious...

Post subject:  The Sound of Ruffling Feathers

I must have been here too long. I rarely post my long rambling posts. I rarely comment on the occasional "Plushy" (new term for SS) and viscous "10" wars that flare.

Mostly if I hear a sub that is a bit off, wide open for comment and low rating, I generally avoid it. This must be some New Year resolution character flaw. Life is short and I would rather concentrate on the roses and avoid the thorns.

Of course SS being the macro-cosm it is - there are going to be ruffled feathers now and then in the Karaoke chickenyard. Most of us veteran posters and subbers have now run the gauntlet and kind of like a boyfriend - girfriend relationship- sometimes things start to "get ugly." And then words fly and ratings drop and feelings are hurt and threads which began for fun (once had a thread I think with a hundred posts or more) that all of a sudden started getting not fun, vanish, and I thought. Well, so be it. It died a noble death.

I haven't really been to many other Karaoke sites although Jean Valjean music is up on the net. I do know that we elder chickens understand the rating system is a catch 22.

So, I have tried lately to focus on writing my songs, commenting on those I like, and gently critiquing those who could use a little helpful suggestions here and there.
I think there are many who do not give even 9s. And over time I have come to understand the logic here. If you have someone who you may not feel is the best, and even give a 9 after a flood of 10s, their golden 10 is going to drop.

And occasionally Hell hath no fury like a 10 scorned.

So, you will see me in the chickenyard, scratching for worms and writing original songs. Recently looks like perhaps another singer and I will get something recorded and some national recognition - time will tell.

But there are some stray feathers flying around and such is the nature of things.

There seems to be a missing comment on one of my subs. I answered all of the replies and it still says "1 new". Am I missing something??? The Crooner

from experience this is what I think happens Crooner
the person may listen to the sub and then get sidetracked away from the computer, the page "times out" technically although you can still see the last page you were browsing (ie your sub page) you have been logged out. consequently when a comment is made instead of it then taking that person to your profile page it skips them straight back to the main SS page. This causes a ghost comment, cant be seen but the prog tells you its there
That is what I have found anyway

I couldn't have explained it any better.

Well I would propably have gone into some technical mumbo jumbo which no one would understand...

So thanks MorganLeFey

Maybe the moderator of the forum did not approved your post for some reason. It is perfectly normal. So keep on posting.
