I received a complaint from a new member that they received a virus from the website.
Now I know for a fact that a virus didn't originate from this website or our server.
However, I am a bit curious if anyone else may have recently found a virus on their computer.
This may have come from a link that was clicked on the website which took you somewhere else. We try to prevent spammers from posting links in posts, their signature lines and in their profiles.
Maybe one of our "techie" members can help me out with this?

There are a few possibilities. One, a link from a post. Two, a corrupt ad. Three corrupt code on the site (which is highly unlikely. IF, and I doubt it, something actually came from the site it would be a corrupt ad, which isn't really from the site. For one thing, it is impossible to say for certain where something comes from unless you know the action you took. Even then things can seem one way when they are actually something else. If this person, for example, have multiple pages open, was visiting here, but a different page change to a corrupt ad, then it would seem like it came from here when it really didn't.
I have been dealing with the Crypt Locker virus from two of my users so I've had quite the refresher on these things. Note, I am not nor have been infected.
