whats with the naff noise that is happening every time I sub a comment or look at a different page here? It doesnt normally have noises here...so what richard cranium mucked about with the site? |

this freakin STUPID noise is getting really irritating...its a cross between a fart and a door slam or fly swot...and it is occuring every time I change a page...and since I havent been round in 3 days, thats quite a few times...can someone tell me why this is occuring please |

ok I found the culprit...it was a popup blocker that had installed itself with a toolbar...grrr I hate invasive (@$%&#!) that installs without asking...I suspect it was when I upgraded yahoo |

Oh thank goodness - I was starting to go crazy - I was looking into potential scripts etc... Ha ha jokes on me... Whew at least I wasn't losing it completely! |

Morgan, good to hear! while we're on it, I visited SS yesterday, and darned if I can get any music files to start. This is a fairly new pc that wasn't on that site before. The popup comes up, but no sound happens! Can't see anything on the site that talks about what music player you need, java, etc... |

Matt, the free Quicktime player is what most people use. Not sure if Windows Media Player works or not. |

mediaplayer will work if it has the correct codecs but yeah most use quicktime...I have no idea what I use cos I loathe and detest quicktime |

Quicktime is awesome as compared to RealPlayer - Uggg! I hate Quick time so you can only imagine how I feel about Real Player! |

Couldn't agree more. Even Windows Media Player is better than that pair. Both are so rude and invasive that they essentially take over your computer. Both install not easily avoidable applications in the icon tray, Quicktime ones that are not easy to disable. They by default install other software, too. |

I loathe QuickTime with a passion 
I use WMP, the sound quality is sooooooooooooooo much better
