I've been a free member here and have no right to complain. When I first signed up I was a newbie at karoake and simply listened and commented for a while before I got the nerve to record anything. But in that time I did realise that the server used here was god aweful slow. That and my initial lack of interest kept me from becoming a paying member. Now the only way I can get to the site is through a proxy server which kinda reformats the page and makes using the website a real pain.
With all that being said I'm not so certain the issue is this website's. Once they changed IP addies, if that's what they did, the servers leading to the site may have not been updated. One of the first proxy servers I used to get here is now unavailable to me just like this site. Can someone with access to this site outside of using a proxy test and see if www.iphide.com is working. If it is, this will prove that something is amiss outside of SS.
My brother who lives 3 doors down accessing the internet via AOL through the same highspeed cable I use. However I'm on RoadRunner access. His cable to the house is ran underground and currently will not work. As soon as the cable company replaces his line and he regains access I'll have him check to see if he has routing issues to SS. I'm not really sure what this will prove but I'd imagine being on the same line and running to the same site should produce the same results. As I mentioned before I was being rejected by an AOL server. If he gets through I'll be at his house running a tracert to see what servers they're sending him through and then talking with our ISP.
Good Luck to all. I surely miss being able to listen and comment without the hassles through a outside proxy server.

I tried that Proxy Rob, and it was not available to me...Got a page not found error!
I can still get here through my own internet service and through other proxy services but could not even get that page to load.
Hope this helps answer your question.

Well,
That is quite a bit of information. However the fact remains that there is nothing that I can do about this.
I have responded to all emails that I received. Ask around you will see that people have received my replies. If I did not respond to anyones email it must be a case that I did not receive it.
I have had the Network Operation Center (NOC) look into this situation. As well as Darrell, who is my server Guru. They cannot determine where the problem exists. However they do know that this server is running properly and is not infected by any viruses or other problems.
If there was a problem with the server it would have been remedied. The fact remains that since most are able to access and this forum is running the server is operable.
As FOXE had previously explained quite well in fact is that there is a breakdown with some network transfer somewhere!?
I apologize for the problems but there absolutely nothing that I can do at this point.
I have considered modifying the IP addresses of the sites but this would take the server offline for most for 24-48 hours while the networks update.

Neo - that would be an excellent explanation...
When lines are down servers are out as well - no servers no transfer...
Could be the answer/problem. Hard to tell.

Phill (and others at KS), as well as Cindy for sharing knowledge of this abstract area of programming,
Thanks, Seems people quickly forget that technology although a convenience isn't without it's flaws ! It's not 100%. People around here freak if DSL service is out for 1/2 hour, even get angry. That's just not fair. Stuff happens and despite cause, there often is no easy solution, and certainly no excuse for fault-finding when life has so many more significant things going on.
