Hello I have a dvd/vcd player that does not have the microphone/karaoke input/port, I am wondering is there a way that I can make it to be my karaoke meachine? like a plug-in? or part that I can purchase? |

Unless it reads CD+G subcodes then you won't be able to get karaoke out of your player. Although you might be able to play VCD or DVD karaoke discs. |

Like stated unless you are going to be using DVD or VCD discs which are not too common as the standard CDG, you aren't going to have much of a karaoke machine. You don't really need a microphone port, you could just buy a small mixer, then you plug your player & mics into the mixer. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=630156 Now if you needed a key changer ability, then you would need an external adapter. http://www.karaokewh.com/item_details.c ... raoke.html Pretty expensive however at $189 just for the key changer. You could get a real karaoke player for about the same price. http://www.soundchoicestore.com/pck-300 ... 33703.html Now this does come with mic inputs on the player, but really mic inputs built into the players aren't very good sounding to begin with - the separate mixer would give you nicer sound & more controllable. |

Hello, so I can buy a mixer, then I can plug my dvd player and a microphone to that mixer, then I can sing along just like karaoke machine on that microphone. I don't mind about keychanger. I just want to sing ![]() |

Oh I found this one on the Internet, and it is the thing that I want my player to be, yeayh http://www.acekaraoke.com/hprdkmmor1.html but I am not sure if this is worth it or not? Or if I buy a mixer , would it do the same thing? |

Not worth it. Mixer for a little more, would do a better job as far as sound controllability. |

As many have said, you can play DVD or VCD based Karaoke discs using the machine, and the device you have listed. The CD+G discs, which tend to be more available in song titles, etc. would not play. Exception is that if your player can play CDs and have a digital code output (you can find this out quickly in your manual or back of the machine where it will say digital code output), you can buy an external CD+G decoder that will also function as a mixer for your mic, key change, have effects built in etc. I have only seen a few of these and they go for at least $300 or so but if you want to keep the machine, this may do it. I can't recommend any brands since I haven't used it myself but here isone example of such device. One thing nice about this is, and I would only say it's for home use, not for professional use, I can hookup my Sony 300 CD changer to it and never have to fiddle with my discs. I may end up getting one of these and set it up my home system so I can put all my disc and use it as a jukebox type of thing. |

Problem with the cdg decoders, they don't work with all players even alot with the digital outs. Some work fine, other work so-so - graphic glitches & lagging lyrics, many don't work at all. Anything that does work MUST have a 'digital shock buffer' (don't ask me?) built inline with the digital output in the player. |
