I know a lot of people say "don't buy those".... I once purchased a bunch of Nikkodo/Sava disks from ebay, and some are totally stupid music (some sound discustingly midi-ish) but then.... SOME of the songs I got on them are pretty dang good music. I'm looking for a specific song and it appears to ONLY be on this label. (which is making me angry) So, if anyone has the certain disk (listed below), please PM me.... I'd like to get your impression on a certain song that's on it...... before I bother buying the thing. It's on Sava12: Together Again - Owens, Buck Rollin' In My Sweet Baby's Arms - Owens, Buck Under Your Spell Again - Owens, Buck Knock Three Times - Craddock, Billy Crash Detroit City - Bare, Bobby Ashes Of Love - Desert Rose Band Snowbird - Murray, Anne Teddy Bear Song - Fairchild, Barbara Behind Closed Doors - Rich, Charlie Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue - Gayle, Crystal Six Days On The Road - Dudley, Dave Amanda - Williams, Don You're My Best Friend - Williams, Don Funny Face - Fargo, Donna Queen Of The Silver Dollar - Doyle, Holly She Thinks I Still Care - Jones, George Hello Walls - Young, Faron Easy Loving - Hart, Freddie Games People Play, The - Weller, Freddy And I really wouldn't be such a baby about just "buying it", but that's the ONLY song on the cdg that I want, and it would be my luck it would be one of the really lame tracks, and then I'd have to pitch a fit and all that good stuff. >easier to just ask< :D . |

Their country line is actually pretty decent for the most part (SAVA & SAVC) - sometimes they don't have lyric swipes. Their pop/rock line is what is very much hit or miss. I have a few currently, but have had the entire line before in other systems - except for the now swiping, there were no real complaints. Which song are you looking at? |

Yeah, of the ones I have....... quite a few of them don't have the "lyrics swipes".. (is THAT what it's called? Lol) .... learn somethin' new every day;) I can ignore that, or the lyrics being off-time. But I can't deal with crappy tracks. All of mine are older country, and country that's pretty hard to find. Most of them are really good music, but I do have some that are rather smucky sounding. (don't ask what the def for smucky is, I'm just trying not to curse) I'm actually listening to a clip of the track right now. Pretty good sounding music, it'll suit me fine. It's the Desert Rose Band song, *Ashes of Love*. A lot of bluegrass people do this one, I've sang it with guitar, just wanted to try the karaoke. But... the background singers are not there. :( The awesome harmonies to this song are necessary. Heck, that's half the song. Olllieeeeeee....... Ya wanna sing some harmony? ![]() |

....... I thought that was the only song I'd be interested in on there...but someone else PM'd me, thinking for sure the one I wanted was *Queen of the Silver Dollar*.... don't know how I overlooked that on the list. I'd love to sing that one too, never tried it but I always liked that song. . |

It isn't the monitor, it's a glith in the forum. Everyone is complaining of the same thing. |

I have a version of "Rollin In My Sweet Babies Arms".... fun song. Actually, I think I may have 2 versions of it. Chartbuster sure has some good bluegrass sets, they have awesome bluegrass instrumentals on them. Ollie, for crise sake... SUB A SONG already. We all want to hear you, but you've never subbed anything. ![]() And, it's not your old monitor, it's the error-whatever we're having here. I can't see either. When I get done typing, I highlight my text to check for typos before I hit "submit". LOL ..... though an old monitor might make it worse. (??) . |

ABOUT A YEAR AGO i FOUND A dealer that had the complete sav collection. I bought them all for $4.00 each new. The sav "P" (Platinums) are really good. |

I guess everyone hears different things, I do have some ok versions - even to a point a particular version of something may be the favorite (rare), but most of them in the 'P' series are not passable IMO. The 'A' & 'C' series both country sets(basically the same just renamed) were for the most part ok, not the greatest, but wasn't bad either. Same with Music Maestro, couldn't understand what people were hearing that they thought they were so good. |

there were a FEW of the SAVP series that were worth having... but precious few. The Country line was better, but those ones that don't highlight the words?? UGH! Talk about a karaoke nightmare for the occasional singer of that song! |

There are some Music Maestro I prefer to all others, but they are country ("Carrying Your Love With Me" and "Mercury Blues" among them). Probably they suck for rock and pop -- I know "Don't You Want Me", "You Don't Send Me Flowers", and "Baby Don't Go" are really bad. It is really funny -- I never listened to country music before I started doing karaoke about 2 years ago, and now I love the stuff.... |

karaoke about 2 years ago, and now I love the stuff.... The stuff kinda "grows" on ya, huh? :D Matt, the ones that don't highlight the words (much like this forum is doing, Lol).... or the ones I have that highlight them about a line too late... is the very reason I wont take them to shows. There are people in the crowd that SWEAR by those color changing words, and if you aren't right with them..... they think you're "singing wrong". LMAO No matter where the music's going.... you gotta follow those WORDS I tell ya!!! I have about 10 or 12 of them. I found them once on ebay and I think the most I paid was about $4 a disc... couldn't pass them up. Of each disc, I've got mostly good songs, it's like they wasted space with a sucky one or two on each disc. Ah well, they were still cheap. . |

OH, and........ I HAVE A NEW DILEMMA: (but a GOOD one) ![]() I'm in the process of buying a new laptop. I had one ordered a couple months ago, then when they called saying there was gonna be a delay on something and it would be a longer wait before shipping... I backed out while I could. I'm wanting one JUST for recording music. (with wireless broadband of course though) What is this new Windows Vista? WHY can't MS just STAY with an OP that we like? :banghead: Me and WinXP have finally started getting along, and I don't want to get Win Vista. (atleast.... I don't think I do) Anyhow, anybody have a laptop set up specifically for recording? Any suggestions as to what I should/shouldn't get? Cause I was gonna start with a basic, then change some things around. (a Dell, of course) . |
