Hello. I have been lurking on this site for sometime and have enjoyed reading the opinions and the sharing here. I posted today so I thought I might as well post an introduction while I am at it. Some of you I feel like I know just from reading your posts for so long. I usually feel content just reading but I like to help those with questions if I think my post will help. Although I'm no youngster or new to karaoke there is always something for me to learn too. Usually once I start posting it's hard to stop....you poor souls ...maybe I'll give you a break and just continue lurking for the most part. Glad to meet you people. Most of you seem so cool.

Hi Isis, Thank you so much for the welcome. I am in south Houston. Although my address is considered in Houston I am so close to Brazoria county and Galveston county, which is my old stomping grounds, that I forget sometimes I have a Houston Harris county address. I am no stranger to message boards and have several of my own. I know it's hard to make friends as a newbie on a new board among people that have been on the board for years so your welcome means a lot. Thank you.

welcome from the Austin contingent!  My mom just moved from Baytown to Brookshire so I get down there from time to time.  You have good Karaoke in that area?

Well, we have a variety of karaoke...some good some bad. It seems that most bars seem to have karaoke these days at least a few days out of the week. The competition is pretty tough and ranges from very professional to pretty cheezy. It seems these days every one and their brother want to host a karaoke show and many do not have a great sounding system but have thousands and thousands of selections of computer driven karaoke. My biggest complaint for many of these systems is that their software has limited key control...maybe one key max. To me the point of karaoke is singing a familiar song but since we all have our voice range we want to make the song our own by singing in a range we sound the best. So I am disapointed with these systems out there. Maybe they are using inferior software...maybe that's all that is available, I don't run a computerized show so I don't know. Anyway, this site lists a few places around the area but there are many many here in this area. http://www.singhouston.com/

Thanks for the welcome , xx
