"True" Friendship

None of that Sissy Crap

Are you tired of those sissy "friendship" poems that always sound good,

But never actually come close to reality?

Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship.

You will see no cutesy little smiley faces on this card-

Just the stone cold truth of our great friendship.

1. When you are sad -- I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against

The sorry bastard who made you sad.

2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

3. When you smile -- I will know you finally got laid.

4. When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.

5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much

Worse it could be until you quit whining.

6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.

7. When you are sick -- Stay the hell away from me until you are well

Again. I don't want whatever you have.

8. When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsy (@$%&#!).

9. This is my oath.... I pledge it to the end. "Why?" you may ask;

"because you are my friend".

Friendship is like peeing your pants,

everyone can see it,

But only you can feel the true warmth.

Send this to 10 of your closest friends,

Then get depressed because you can only think

of 4.

When you're in jail, I won't be the one to bail you out. I'll be the one sitting next to you going "DAYUM, did we have a good time or WHAT?"

After doin a gig fri we had the reg sat night there. I spent all aft yesterday in the hot sun trying to get a water pump off the van. No way to the gig AFriend loaned me his van and I thought if I can just make it through the night Ill be set. I walked in the bar and a couple of friends were sitting there and I started getting energy from them.  Then about 10 good singers kept the energy level up and at the end I wasnt as tired when I walked in.

Still feeding off the same energy I was up at 7:30 unloaded the van and my Friend loaned me a full set of mechanic tools By noon I had the pump off. Now Im taking a break and tired but its a good tired Might Be Beer Thirty!!!!!!!! One doesnt realize how important friends are Take care of them!!!

A true friend stabs you in the front.
—Oscar Wilde

Leave it to Oscar Wilde to lay out an important truth with such wry humor. A true friend is one who helps you see the truth, even if it hurts. This doesn’t mean we can go around stabbing our friends with hurtful words. Rather, it means being up front with friends about important issues, raising gentle questions with tact and love, never gossiping or putting them down to others behind their backs.

Quote:
I do not wish to treat friendships daintily, but with the roughest courage. When they are real, they are not glass threads or frost-work, but the solidest thing we know.
—Ralph Waldo Emerson
