Karaoke Forums

Hi,

I’m Mark Hinge.  I’m 50 (almost), and I teach high school career-tech in Youngstown Ohio.  I tried for the moniker “Marko”, but it was taken, so I went with “UnHinged” as I was rudely referred to as such on another site (Political/religious/social issues can get very intense sometimes, ) so I just went with it.  

I have a couple PA rigs, and do Live Sound when the occasion calls.  I have about 5000 karaoke songs (CD+G and CAVS), and plenty of regular music. I do all the shows at the school, and any staff parties, etc.  

The karaoke was originally for my own music room and family/friend entertainment, but since I have the PA equipment, it was a natural progression.  

I started letting a buddy take it out to help him, and we had a couple steadyish bar gigs, but I had to shut that down ‘cause he started messing up again (drugs).  

I retired the karaoke to the music room for a couple years, then decided that it would be fun to take it out again.  

I got a steady Sat/Sun gig for a couple years, but that ended recently (would have made one of those “Stupid bar owners” threads, for sure).  

So, I’m enjoying my weekend nights myself or with buddies, hogging the mic myself lately.  

I have a couple perspectives lined up, but I’m not even going to pursue it for a couple months; I want a break for now.  

I belong to another forum (sound/guitar/political), but not karaoke.  I found this one, and seems like a lot of nice folks here.

hey unhinged welcome. i watched the board for about a week before signing on and there seems to be some very cool and knowledgeable singers and kj's on here.

Welcome Mark.. I have no idea where you got the idea that the people here are nice????  Just kidding...... the people here are very, very nice and the weirdest thing is..... that the ones I have met in person are just as nice inperson, as they are online... go figure...

Howdy and welcome from another newbie.  I enjoyed reading your life story, especially the part about how you got your user name.  I have been known to have weird added in front of my first name, and I can't decide if that is an insult or just a descriptor.
